Who do you think will be the better player long term?
Perron was on a 30-30 pace last season scoring 21-21 in 57 games. He has spent his first few seasons in the NHL developing his defensive game and recovering from a serious concussion, and realistically has the potential to lead the team in scoring next season.
Tarasenko has been playing in the KHL, the 2/3 best hockey league in the world, for five seasons now, since he was 16. He is widely considered by many experts to be one of, if not the, top drafted prospect not in the NHL.
I went Perron. But it's an interesting poll. It could definitely wind up being either guy. I see Perron as someone who'll continue to improve, same as Tarasenko. They're both special players.
Perron has been the Blues most skilled player. But I don't think he's in the same league as Tarasenko when to comes to being a dynamic force. I think Tarasenko is going to turn into a Bure, Mogilny, Federov type of player. His 1v1 play is something special, something the Blues have never had.
Perry is a heck of a player, but I expect the "who's better right now" comparisons to start pretty quickly once Vlad gets up to speed in the NHL, so with age and potential being a factor I had to vote Tarasenko.
Yeah, AMacs decline and retirement is going to be brutal...
Anyway, Tarasenko. I think Perron is more puck skilled but I think Tarasenko will be better overall.
EXACTLY! Tarasenko will be top notch in almost all aspects of a forward's game, while Perron may be better at puckhandling and smooth skating moves. Tarasenko will likely have a much more physical game, be more effective on defence (due to his prediliction for enjoying contact and his significantly greater bulk-even if Perron knows positioning better). I theink that Tarasenko will always be more effective at shooting and goal scoring. Perron may be a better set-up man.
Went with Tank. Hitchcock was on the radio yesterday and talked about Tarasenko being big. Mentions a Steen AMc Tarasenko line. Talked about how he has meshed with Kovolchuk and that he is an elite talent.
Perron missed a lot of hockey with the concussion. He could easily have stepped up his game this season if only.

Perron's my favorite player but Tarasenko's ceiling is higher and if he puts it together in NA he could be the best forward we've seen here in a long time.
