What's going on with Kabanov? Injured? Healthy scratch?
He's played only 4 games.
He fell during a game and cut his forearm badly enough to need surgery. The team's saying they expect a full recovery.
The Sound Tigers beatwriter, says there's been no word of when he'll be ready to play again,
You should ignore rookies like Kreider and Zibanejad. There are always going to be consistency problems with them; even for extremely talented prospects. Schultz isn't the norm.

That's unfortunate , he seemed to be playing well from what I've heard.
Lander's been pretty disappointing... He's playing mostly third line, has played well defensively but just doesn't have any kind of offensive creativity whatsoever.
At this point it's a pretty sure bet that he won't ever become a top-sixer in the NHL.
Tyler Pitlick - Has great tools, creating chances but it's his point totals that have been disappointing. Likely not a top-sixer in the NHL, looks like a solid potential third-liner.
Curtis Hamilton - Just hasn't been effective at all, I'm definitely starting to lose faith in him.
Ryan Martindale - Not creating many chances, I've pretty much lost faith in him at this point.
Alex Plante - Has been dreadful to say the least... No clue how he became an AHL all-star last year.

It is too bad. But, at least he'll be back this season, playing top 6 mins with Nino/Nelson.
Cal De Haan was looking very good, very poised, when he fell awkwardly and dislocated his shoulder. He's out all season. Really disappointing. Almost a full yr of development lost.
What's up with these players? Injuries, team sucks, doesn't care, misused, small sample size or what?
Kuhnhackl, 1 goal in 8 games?
He's been in and out of the lineup, not getting a ton of minutes, but the team is offensively challenged, so hopefully they start giving him more minutes, especially over someone worthless like Benn Ferriero who can't finish worth crap (see: zero goals).
To give you an idea, Beau Bennett leads the team in points with 11 in 15 games. Though he would have more if the team could finish better. He's been looking really good the past couple games. At least Tangradi is tied for 2nd in the league in goals with 9.
Kadri is too. He refused to fight one of the Aeros guys that was like 5'9"...I think it was Kampfer LOL
I wasnt watching that part but I would disagree on kadri's softness. Maybe when it comes to dropping the mitts he is soft, but otherwise he is the type of player that gets his nose dirty.
Colborne on the other hand is a monster of a human that could easily out power players but chooses mostly to play a perimeter game. Yes he has made vast improvements in his physicality bur he still has ways to go.
Furthermore, he is ranked the number 1 marlie someone would let their sister date (as per other marlie players). You know you're soft when...

Kadri isn't soft. It's not his job to fight, he's a skilled player. Still, he doesn't mind being gritty or going into the dirty areas and driving the net.

Albany is one of the worst teams in the AHL.
Kreider's season doesn't make a whole lot of sense as college guys generally transition quite well. As you're seeing with Schultz. They are older and used to playing with guys all the way up to their mid 20's and for all intensive purposes men. I don't think he should be looked at like other rookies especially since he played an extra year of college already against the wishes of the Rangers.
Gallagher has started to come on.He has 5 g, 3a for 8 points in 13 games. Not really impressive, but he's tied for the lead on the dogs.
Tinordi has been solid defensively, and physically.
Antoine Corbin - Hamilton signing from the WHL. Has played well and been one of the better dman for the dogs.
Holland - Starting off strong and looks to have strong hockey sense, but isn't catching the breaks to put up points.
Beaulieu - 1 assist in 12 games. Not exactly what you'd figure he would have, but he's shown flashes of brilliance offensively. Definitely has a temper and easy to get off his game. Has made some nice plays just no one to finish/can't finish himself.
I'm sure the dogs players could look better in the stat department if our pp didn't suck so much. The good news for them is they have their number 1 goalie back and should be getting our best/leader offensively in Leblanc back soon. Still won't be a very good team, but this year is pretty much a huge learning curve for pretty much all of the dog players.
Zach Stortini ****ing sucks. He's not even AHL material and can't even do his job properly.
Terrible quality. Tinordi could use some better balance.
