Awesome.

Marlies neuter the Hamilton Mutts last night, then blank the Heat tonight. What a great weekend for hockey.

Oh, and GO ARGOS!!

Great game by the Marlies. Handed the Heat only their second regulation loss of the season so far.

I missed Frattin for a reason. Games are made just a bit more exciting knowing he's in the lineup. Nice to see Scrivens get the shutout and especially nice to see with it being his third game in less than three days. Fraser is awesome...I wanted the ref to let him go so bad. I wouldn't want to piss him off. He looked like he was ready to to knock the guy's head right off his shoulders.

i wouldn't call him a victim. why did he have such a slow start? its not as if things were outside his control. maybe he was in fact in terrible shape coming to camp and it took him this long to get in game shape. eakins was right when he called it unacceptable.

looks like the criticism early on was warranted. like any other player, he should be criticized when he's not doing nearly as well as he can. good to see him finally playing the way he can. lets hope he keeps it up and shows some consistency.

yep, every player should be raked over the coals anytime he has a 5-10gm slump.

so when he plays well, he's awesome and he deserves full credit. when he doesn't play well, he's an innocent victim of circumstance. got it.

[MOD] Yes, Kadri was not performing well and he did deserve some criticism, however not at the level that people are calling him bust and overreacting. The entire team was underperforming, that doesn't give him a free pass but it shows you the context of things; the only players who were actually playing decent during that slump at the beginning were Gardiner (which should be a given) and Komarov. In fact, the reaction here was actually pretty positive when Eakins benched him and Colborne. We knew he needed to wake up, and he did.

Great to see Ben Scrivens really bounce back at home the last two games. Hopefully this allows him to roll a bit.

Nice to see Kadri pot a goal, he's starting to bounce back into form offensively - which is really needed.

Great to see Frattin jump back in and pot one. I worried a bit that taking him out after his 2 goals would have stunted his momentum, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

He was still playing good at the beginning of the year. Just wasn't producing the points.

Judging him after 14 games is also more accurate than judging him after 9 or less games, especially when the early judgement went against everything he had done in recent years.

was he playing just as well at the beginning as he has over the past 7-10 days or so?

basically, he's just been more lucky over the past few games?

and yes, the more games he plays, the more accurate a judgement can be. the ultimate judgement comes only when he's retired, i guess.

Some games at the beginning were better, some games were worse. Overall if you take the two samples, the past 5 games have probably been better as a group, but that doesn't mean he was bad or couldn't have produced points before. That is just how hockey works. You can play exactly the same in two games, and one game you can score 5 points and one game you can score 0, for a number of reasons.

And you recognize that more games means a more accurate judgement, so I don't know why you are claiming bias views when in reality, it is just a clearer picture and a return to the norm.

Lol. Trust me, I know.

I was doing it more for the benefit of anybody else who had a similar initial thought process about the situation.

Hope somebody steps up infront of the net now that komarov is gone. Loved him on the pp and creating havoc in the crease. Lehner has been unreal. We will need to crash the net alot and get under his skin. I hope Ross gets more time for that role and I know Ashton is very good infront of the night as he was for the playoff games he did play last
year. Big game today
