Its hilarious watching them in the 4th quarter trying to close out games. They just suck so much.

Marlins clearly weren't looking for player value back in return, they wanted to dump some expensive contracts while taking back as few dollars as they had to.

I guess they realized last year's offseason spending frenzy was a mistake...

*EDIT*

I wanted to add a funny quote from the ESPN article about the deal:
"Just about any (Marlins) player making money is going to Toronto," a source told ESPN.

... pretty much.

I realize that and good for AA to take advantage of that. But you've got 3 former All-stars + 2 utility players in there. Very good trade for Toronto.

Anyone think Escobar's "eyeblack slur" incident had anything to do with him being moved?

Oh, absolutely. No question there.

I don't know how much value Reyes actually had on the open market though... I can't imagine there were too many teams with both the financial ability to acquire him and the willingness to gamble on his returning to form.

Good for the Jays. Nice to see ownership going for broke.

Definitely yes. Immature actions like that makes him a cancer. Get off my lawn!

I find it interesting that his slur was in Spanish. If his slur had anything to do with being moved, it's curious that he was moved to Miami, which has a considerable added amount of Spanish speakers.

No. They got an upgrade at SS in Reyes.

Assuming you put this in the wrong thread so I'll field it here.

Your search begins and ends with Tyler Bray. I'm an on-again, off-again Vols supporter, and the guy is nearly always on point. He has his moments where you just want to bash your head against a wall, but he makes up for those frequently. He's rocking Manning-like stats this year with a receiving corps that might as well be the Chiefs' receivers. Don't let the W/L fool you, either. They're way too good to have lost so many times. I can promise that Bray will be a player. He's got unreal field vision.

GSP with the championship defence. Got clocked by a good head kick in the third round but was pretty in control besides that...

They were down 14 points with just over 5 minutes to go.

I don't care who they're playing, they played absolutely unbelievable after that and got a win. A win is a win.

Was super-impressed with Henne. VERY impressed.

Kid looked like the QB everyone thought he was going to be in Miami. I would not at all be surprised to see him take over as the regular starting QB for the rest of the year over Blaine "You SUCK, Gabbert" Gabbert.

Also: Packers, baby! Playoff-bound, and if the 49ers show up like they should, will take over the division lead.

Considering how the year started...
