No his skating isn't a weakness he just isn't what I would call an elite skater. Guy has speed though and is incredibley agile.

If you make a statement like "if he could skate" you shouldn't be taking seriously lol. He was flying out there tonight, he has such great wheels. 2 goals including the first one which will probably be on sportscenter tonight.

It seems pretty obvious that Drouin's draft stock will be rising ..
only problem being theres that "big three" on his way...

He may pass barkov but that's about it no matter what he did.

WJC - is it possible for him?

He's talented enough but I can't see HC put more than one 17 in the roster.

Drouin is the big three

Drouin is a natural winger, I say he has as good a shot at team Canada as MacKinnon. Maybe better.

He played centre a lot during his time with the Lions, if im remembering correctly. But I agree he does a shot. Im just basing it off Hockey Canada's past, assuming Monahan and Mackinnon make it I can't see another draft eligible on it. Even if Monahan is 18.

Wow! After watching these last few sets of videos (thank you by the way!) I'm so impressed with Frk's vision!

I doubt that he will.

Drouin's playing special right now. But so is Barkov. A PPG season in the SM-Liiga is unprecedented. Add that to his impressive size, and very good defensive game, and I'm not sure I see Drouin passing him.

Drouin could definitely go top 5 though.

If Huberdeau went 3rd overall ahead of Larsson, I believe Drouin could do the same thing with Jones. It all depends on the teams needs. What if the first 3 lottery teams were Columbus, Toronto and let's say Winnipeg, they all need franchise forward: MacKinnon, Drouin and Barkov. Jones would slip to a team like Edmonton, NYI, Colorado or Anaheim, all teams that needs defense.

I'd rather a forward/MacKinnon

Yes it can, but saying that he will be better than Kane (Drouin's hands nor feet ain't even close of the level Kane had back in he's OHL days) Also Kane was almost 3 PPG player and he would've been if he played with someone like MacKinnon. He played with good players but not good as Nate is.

Kane had Gagner and Kostitsyn though. Nate just turned 17 so while his career should be much better than those 2, the age difference makes a big difference. Kos had 131 points so its not like he didn't have help

I'd be ecstatic if those were the teams selecting in the TOP 3, but no way no how, do I want Edmonton getting the opportunity to select Jones unless they are forfeiting numerous assets to do so.

Same. They'd be insane if they get Jones

I don't see it. Jones upside is so high, higher than Larsson's IMO. He's just simply a better all around player with elite offensive upside. He's a franchise dman, where as I don't think Drouin is a franchise forward. Top line yes, but not franchise forward.

Frankly top 5 will even be tough. Monahan and Lindholm are incredible too, and he's going to have a hard time unseating them too. Both again have an all around game with high, high offensive upside.

At this point I'd say he could be top 5, but it's going to be hard, even as impressive as he's been. This draft is just so deep. Top 3 I'm going to risk being wrong and say he won't touch it. I just don't think he's better than Barkov, Jones or MacKinnon.

Even with team needs taken into account.

True that. Barkov plays already against men and there is plenty of NHL players in SM-liiga nowadays, so Drouin has lot to prove if any team picks him before Barkov. Well, thats just my opinion.

I believe that top 5 will be:

1. MacKinnon (because he's canadian)
2. Barkov
3. Lindholm
4. Jones
5. Drouin / Monahan

3 more assists tonight. Every game he seems to put up 2+ points.

Really wish he would've put that one in... Sportscenter would be all over that.

Hands are just incredible. BC did a good job of breaking up some of his passes, but he still found the scoresheet a lot. 38 points in 17 games
