05/06 Slogan

Hey -

I'm doing some research for a project and was wondering what was the Caps' slogan for the 05/06 season? I'd appreciate all input.

Thanks,
Pete87

That's about it ...... I think Leonsis ditched all "slogans" ...... they never worked and frankly, most were just plain stupid.

Here are a few ones, because I'm bored.

At least 4 games better than the last season!

The last Caps team was bad, played no defense and was overpaid. This year we got rid of one of those. Next year, we'll try for the defense part.

Imagine how bad we'd stink if we didn't have that Russian Kid.

This year's model features less Kippy and more Princess!

Most hockey minds would agree that Majesky is at least a slight upgrade over Jason Doig.

Chris Clark, a rich man's Bates Battaglia!

Hey, we're not on the hook for Mr. Gonchar!

Last year, intensity, this year, just a good effort!

Rumor has it Ovechkin's mom is a mean stay at home defenseman!

Peter who?

Sadly, Dimitri Khristich would have been an upgrade over Petr Sykora.

What?!?!?! I thought we had made a trade for the REAL Petr Sykora.

On the brightside, Caps fans can be happy our medical staff nursed Jeff Friesen back to health from his hernia, just in time for the playoffs with Anaheim!

Whether here or in Nashville Witt still is slow and takes bad penalties!

Thanks to that, I quite literally snorted tea out of my nose.

Aloe (Ovechkin) - It takes the burn away from the rebuilding process

Closer than ever to turning a profit!

AO + Kolzig + a bunch of stiffs = a surprisingly fun-to-watch team.

The year of the bargain bin.

Quest for a top 4 pick!

Better than the Blackhawks!

To actually answer the guy's question...

Early in the season, the Caps had a new TV ad campaign, and the slogan was:

"New Game. New Beginning. New Excitement. Caps Hockey Is Back."

Mid-way through the season they put together a new commercial, focused on AO:

"Alexander the Great: The Future Is Now."

On the whole though, if you're gathering all the teams' slogans, the succinct slogan for the year was: "Caps Hockey Is Back." Lockout reference, obviously.

Good luck with the research.

Lol, i was making the Peter Who Reference to the fact that Ovechkin is going to demolish his records here.

But Mr. Bondra was one of my favorites.

I thought those slogans were Comcast slogans and not Capital slogans -- perhaps they were one and the same.

"This season, we're not going to be eliminated by January" works.

Didn't they have a little Star Wars thingy going?

Don't remember that ........ I do remember the "movie preview" shown at local theaters.

("Sure fire hit" featured Sutherby cleaning Jagr's clock on a huge check)
