Just saw the highlights from that game, and in true Chef fashion, he helped give his goal back almost immediately

Note to Stevie Y: lose all the NYI rejects if you wanna have a shot next year

Oh he still sucks, but I find it funny that he is able to produce some points with them, in 13 games he has more than double the points he had with the islanders all year. And 2 of his goals with us were empty netters.

Ironically, some folks feel Backman and Marchenko might end up being the best of the bunch when all is said and done.
I've looked at this particular draft for the Wings a few times already. Once again thought it was an excellent draft by them. Year after year they find "gems" in the laters rounds. Most of it has to due with their winning culture, superb management, and amazing player development. Everything we don't have

It just amazes me, but with regards to this draft, it doesn't surprise me in the least.

While so many other teams wander around taking shots in the dark and grabbing the latest thing or going on a hunch or taking a flyer or thinking they're simply smarter than everyone else, the Wings often just take guys who have known, unquestioned skillsets and then grab their favorites along the way in later rounds, having often seen more of the lesser-knowns than many other teams thanks to their 30 man scouting staff.

Of this list of players, they have literally ONE guy who seems to have taken a bit of step back this year. Otherwise, despite first picking 35th, they've got as good a group here as just about any team in the league got out of that draft.

Now, this said, I still like our '11 draft VERY much. If there's one thing we fans can't really criticize, it's the overall drafting since Snow took over. Sure, the '10 draft seems to have been an anomaly, one which was apparently dealt with immediately in the firing of Jankowski, but the other drafts have all been successful, particularly with respect to later rounds.

But still, I just marvel at what the Wings did yet again...

Rolston has 11pts in his last 6 games with the Bruins. Looks to have found his legs and is flying out there, he's been great on the point on the PP.

Where is Riendeau and Cantin plying?

Don't know, don't care. Rolston dogged it from day one, he's a piece of crap in my eyes.

What an insightful post. We're so burned. By all means we should bring back Boston's king of the secondary assist. I'm sure Jersey misses him as well.

Isn't there a team in western Canada you can root for is it whoever wins the cup?

I don't know where Riendeau is plying his trade.

I don't know where Cantin is playing his trade.

I know one thing for sure: We can't say they is not plying.

Taylor Hall to have shoulder surgery, out 5-6 months. What a shame.

My goodness, it really seems like a lot of NCAA kids (whether seniors or actually leaving early) are signing with their drafters or as free agents.

Isles not yet in on the fun... seems like a lot of the goodins are off the board.

@radleyatthespec: Hamilton's Spencer Abbott - Hobey Baker favourite and Maine star forward - has just signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs

#dagenshockey J.T. Brown (F) from Univ. of Minnesota-Duluth to Tampa Bay Lightning: Date: 03/29/2012 Player:... http://dlvr.it/1N0Lfh #hockey

#dagenshockey Jason Zucker: From the WCHA to the State of Hockey: With the Minnesota Wild missing out on... http://dlvr.it/1N0Lcr #hockey

@TSNBobMcKenzie
SJS free-agent signee Matt Tennyson from Western Michigan will report to Worcester of the AHL.

Krug signed with Boston, of course.

Several others have signed too in recent days...

Anyone happen to catch the highlight of Tyler Bozek's "defensive" play against Wayne Simmonds last night. I don't know what was going through his head, but he basically just skated backwards away from Simmonds and allowed him to walk out from behind the net and score an uncontested goal from right in front, watching him the whole time. He was probably expecting someone else to pickup Simmonds or something, but it looked really bad - in a funny kind of way.

Winnipeg 2 Carolina 3 in the 3rd.

Hopefully the game goes to OT(although a Carolina win the better of 2 options). lol

ETA: looks like the game is going to OT, now hopefully Carolina can pull it out then both will be 2 points ahead us us with tiebreaker advantage.

Looks like Winnipeg won in OT, oh well makes it harder for us to pass Winnipeg.

Penguins on NBC again, no way!

This is still a 30 team league right?

Wow, that's too bad. Imagine what the mood around here would be like if the rumored trade at the draft actually happened. We'd all be breaking out our pitch forks and torches.

I hate hearing about injuries like this because I think of how if there was an NHL season this wouldn't happen. Would he avoid injury in the NHL, who knows? But the fact that he most likely would have been playing in the NHL makes this hurt. I feel for Columbus fans and I hope this isn't the start of the fall of his career. Isles fans know way too much about that.

Well, considering CDH can't stay healthy and all the picks used to get him...might be similar.
