NHL and PA expect to meet Monday night. Smaller group, but players and owners likely included.

Not that this means anything at all...

Better than not meeting, but nothing ever comes of these. Won't be excited until we have a confirmed deal.

The thing that pisses me off is that I keep seeing quotes from the players about Bettman. If both sides continue to trash each other through the media, nothing is ever going to get done.

Yeah, I'd be pissed if the League was dragging their feet at this critical period of time. Of course it's not like the PA didn't drag their feet all year long leading up to the lockout.

Yeah, seriously. With the NHL suggesting this and refusing to meet at times, combined with Fehr's rhetoric, I'm not really surprised it's gotten this bad.

My guess is that Bettman suggesting 2-weeks off was more of a tactical move than anything else. I think he knows players are getting antsy and is trying to show that the owners are more than willing to drag this out, if need be. It seems so far that the owners have been more willing to budge than the players, so he's just playing a bit of hard ball with them now.

I'm glad you guys have this all figured out. I've given up pointing fingers, I've run out of 'em.

I think we're in for a 1-2 hour meeting today, with no news. They'll probably meet again tomorrow.

Players could've taken the high road after people accused Fehr of withholding info a few weeks ago. But they've really made things tough by attacking Bettman lately. Versteeg just popped off today.

I can't even read what players are saying with the exception of a few past and present Ducks on twitter. With nothing to do, Parros has been fun to follow.

To be fair to the players, Bettman is a complete tool. I would be struggling to withhold my anger towards him if the media was pressing me about the lockout.

I'm generally with the league in this lockout... and I hate Bettman.

Yeah, I'm with the league too. Fehr tried to ruin baseball, and now he's ruining hockey.

Fehr was late to his own meeting. At least his Bro got there on time.

Na, you don't want that. All they're doing in there is taking turns swatting flies.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the meeting wasn't constructive, though they've agreed to meet again either tomorrow or Wednesday. It looks like the NHL got the union to make a new proposal and they might need an extra day. Best thing that could've realistically happened.

Meeting is more constructive than not meeting. At least with a meeting there's a chance to let the other side know exactly what they want from them. I just hope that on Thursday NHL fans have something to be thankful for.

At least they're almost speaking the same language now. It's still going to be a while before anything is resolved though and we'll probably get a half assed attempt at a season.

Linked profits, de-linked losses, and pump up the "make whole" so they get all their money for this year even though they aren't playing because Fehr should have made this proposal in September.

Hopefully Hamrlik has friends.

Yeah, not a real impressive effort by the PA, which explains the "still far apart" comments by Bettman. But, the PA kinda sorta accepted linkage almost, and so we're in the ballpark. We're at opposite ends of the ballpark.
