Jacobs is a hypocrite, and a cancer to these meetings. I would expect his demeanor during this whole thing from an owner of a cap floor team. Not an owner who spends to the cap yearly, and gives bad contract extensions to RFA's for UFA money.
no but in light of how little he's spoken I feel like someone should check in on him
I thought someone put on muzzle on his twitter after last time, but he started it back up again. Give it some time, and hopefully he will again. Then we can maybe send him to Calgary for a 6th round pick when this lockout is over!
lol the meetings lasted as long as one of Don's water breaks.
I do think today was good in a way...because the league publicly and privately called for the players to make their own proposal and made it abundantly clear linkage was a non-starter (while also allowing they'll be amenable to negotiating contract rights).
The league can't write the entire proposal without any input from Fehr though, we'll find out if Fehr just wants to stall soon enough or not. If they don't make a proposal after they've been called out on it they're going to look so bad. And if they make another de-linked proposal after it's been made clear to them that's a non-starter it has the same effect.
I might even go so far as to say the PA's next move will tell us if we have hockey this year or not. Eventually Don has to take some time to write out a proposal and give up de-linkage. The league wants that about as badly as they do the cap itself.
