Was hanging out with friends. On the way home, heard it was 5-0 Rangers. Buddies grilled me.
Got home, it was 5-2. I was just happy they broke the shutout. Watched till it was 5-5 and then the stream froze. Like the guy left his computer. The sound still worked, but the picture didnt.
What a game... At 0-5, I remember my girlfriend asking me why I was still watching, almost laughing. I told her that I was unable to stop watching, that I was a fan, even at 0-5.
1-5, 2-5, 3-5, 4-5, 5-5... Who's laughing now woman?!? Woohoo!! And when Huet stopped Jagr's shot in the shootout, I started running everywhere in the house, my girlfriend was as excited as I was and my father called to share that moment with me. An unimportant, non-playoff game made us scream and laugh like two kids on Christmas morning.
And when Saku scored in the shootout, I raised my arms and lept from the couch. Yes, take that Rags!
Henrik always seems nervous and beatable whenever I watch him play Mtl, esp in Mtl.
I was there. We had crappy tickets in the pit, but so many people were leaving, we were able te see the comeback with much better places !
Those videos remind me how BAD Pedneault was. The guy doesn't analyse anything, he simply descripe what he sees or repeat what Pierre just said. I'm so glad he's gone now.
I just remember that when it was 5-0 fans started throwing stuff on the ice and S.Kostitsyn was clearing all the stuff with his stick pissed off. I could just feel out of his anger that something was going to happen.
This is the best Habs game I have ever seen. I, too, was being made fun of by my girlfriend as I watched it, but when we finally tied I actually let a loud YES!!!! In our condo... Didn't care about the neighbor for a couple minutes )))
Thanks to this thread I decided to rent/buy it on iTunes... It hurts. I love that line-up so much more than our current one... I always thought Higgins, Price and Sergei had so much potential... I still believe if they had had a decent coach, who could have given them some "life choices direction", their careers would have been very different.
I also really, really miss Koivu. Say what you will, he always played his heart out... Plekanec is a good player, but overall Koivu >> Pleky in my book. Never had good wingers.
I remember the quasi-riot when the refs decided to give us 2 penalties in a row at the end of the 2nd, while we just scored to make 5-2..
Man, was the crowd into this game.
edit: Although what made this victory all the sweeter is that 2 weeks ago, the Ranger had made a similar comeback against us from 3-0 and won 4-3...
So true!
They were giving some kind of Home Depot scroll that were easily throwable on the ice! After the second komisarek penality everybody threw it on the ice.
I think the best part was at 5-0, my friend turned at me and told me : "Man this is the lamest game you brought me to or its gonna be the best ever".
Oh yeah and 4 peeps left right behind us when it was 4-0 in second period.... Bunch of retarded

With the price of tickets now, when I buy a pair to go with a friend, there is no way Im leaving early. Sucks to be them lol
I thought you guys might like to see my project. The only directive we were told is to be creative and use some of the editing techniques that he taught us so I decided to make a movie version of the comeback. Ended up having to use poor quality youtube viz but I think it came out alright. Had a blast reliving the game while I spent a couple sleepless nights making it.
lol man i remember being so sick that night, just aweful, but still forced myself to watch, at 5-3 i got out of my room and sat in the living room with my father lol, nobody wanted to catch what i had but come on , this was an exception!!
also, i love how on the replays of the 4th goal, it looks like streit is celebrating early EVERYtime lol, like he just knew it was gonna go in off of him

I think Pedneault although he's got his faults was 100 times better then Brunet or anybody else their gonna put in there.
All Pedneault does on TVA Sports is say Corbin committed the infraction. It's like how Bob Cole knows 2-4 Habs players, but knows everything about the leafs and their players...
With some help from his goal posts. The margin of victory for Philadelphia that year was Umberger scoring on 40% of his shots in a freakish streak of accuracy and the number of goals the Habs lost on pucks that almost got in the net.
AK and Pleks in particular were crushing it on the balance of play that year.
I miss those guys. The Jacques Martin era Habs were pretty bland and flavourless, maybe under Therrien we'll get some swag back.
Also get Lapierre back already >.<
Carbo knew how to use Lapierre. He gave him several responsabilities, he became a PK specialist. That's how you give confidence to your players, wich Martin never realised. They are human beings and he threated them like robots.
