Thanks for the highlights. That second EK goal was sick!

Why does Filppula have a golden helmet?

He is the leading scorer on the team.

The leading scorer gets to wear a golden helmet? That's awesome.

I want to see EK rockin' that helmet!

The line Månsson-Greening-Taupio is really wrecking havock among the other teams.

But also when it comes to spectators he is starting to draw people to the ice. Aalborg had a crowd of 4.212 for this home game and that is a lot for being Denmark.
(He will now longer be the lone NHL in Denmark, since Kevin Klein from Nashville will play for Herlev Eagles, and who knows more could follow).
Such a shame that tax problems kept Peter Regin for playing for Herning Blue Fox. It could have been fun for them to meet "center-against-center"!

One question

On the league website it lists Greening as a "RD". It lists other players as RW LW and LD, so is he still playing left wing like he did here and it is just the abbreviation different in Danish, or is he playing right defence?

Sponsored by Veikkaus, Finnish lottery, the player with most points wears a golden helmet.

At the end of the 60-game season, the player who played most games with a golden helmet and is in the top-20 in points, wins 10,000 euros from Veikkaus.

It's a commercial of Nettiauto.com. It's the most popular used and new car sales site in Finland where mostly private sellers sell their cars but also car dealers. The commercial says that "men don't wait." The word "odottaa" [to wait] also can mean pregnancy in Finnish although the correct word for it is "raskaus." The ad is about new cars that you can buy right now (cars the dealers have in their stock) and you don't need to wait for 3 months. Many times if you buy a new car and have the options, color, etc. you want, it might take 3 months before you get it as you wait for the factory to manufacture your precious German hot-hatch.

That same tradition goes with ice-hockey as well.

And yes, I'd like to see the look on Karlsson's face when thousands of people in Ottawa sing "Världens bästa Karlsson". Or try to.

According to this article, http://www.iltalehti.fi/smliiga/2012...47790_sm.shtml , Erik Karlsson would like to play in the Swedish Elite League, Elitserien. But Elitserien has decided that they won't allow lockout players to play in that league so Karlsson plays in his second best choice, Jokerit. His first choice would be his home team, Frölunda.

Jesse's team, TuTo, signed another NHL player, this time Jared Boll from Columbus Blue Jackets. Here's the press conference, Winchester also interviewed. English parts @ 3:33-4:22, 5:00-5:43 and 8:43-9:11.

My friend that used to work for a travel agency told me her friend in Ottawa just booked a 1 way ticket to Finland for a Sens player today.

Who is left?

Gone:
Spezza
Michalek
Turris
Greening
Condra
Daugavins
Gonchar
Karlsson

Not going any where
Alfy (kids)
Phillips (pub and kids)
Latendresse (kid)

Eliminated (were in NWT today)
Methot
Neil
Smith

Left:
Regin (my guess)
Lundin
O'brien

Since they are leaving from Ottawa, my guess is Regin and he is rumoured to signing with Lukko.

Anyone able to think of anyone else?

It's got to be Regin. There's a couple articles that state he has been negotiating with Rauman Lukko.

I shouldnt have watched that highlight of EK, it makes me REALLY miss hockey. The way he skates and handles the puck is a thing of beauty.

Please come back

Greening had a hattrick in his last game. He is now 7-7 through 8 games.

He is also 2nd on his team in goals, and 4th in points with half as many games played.

Highlights from yesterday's Karlsson vs. Turris game.

Turris's 1st assist @ 0:30, goal @ 2:34 (Karlsson on the ice when that happened), 2nd assist @ 2:59.

Ruutu scored his 5th goal of the season and his 60th of his SM-liiga career in 236 games @ 1:31. Put the puck to the net!
