If that is having doubts, I would hate to see what you expect from a 7th overall pick.

A skilled 50-60 point guys coming from the 7th pick is great!

Great job by the coach, right from calling him out on his fitness.

Sometimes you have to break something in order to make it stronger.
Is it impossible for you to just give credit to a Leaf player/prospect for a job well done?

Yes Eakins did the right thing, but we all know he is a great coach. In the end Kadri is the one who put up the points and got player of the week, give credit where credit is due.

I love your arbitrary definitions to make it seem like the kid is worse than he is.

Kadri will be a great player, and thats awesome coming from 7th.

It would be terrific if Kadri turned into a Sundin wouldn't it. Sundin IMO was a lower case great player. Great players make the HOF. Bobby was an upper case great player.

Reality is none of us know what his NHL career will be like, how good or bad he will be. I don't know why people can't just be happy he seems to be back on track instead of deciding the guys whole career before he has his first full NHL season under his belt.

Maybe he will be a 60 point guy, maybe he will surprise and be a point a gamer, maybe he will quit hockey because he has a new dream to be a rockstar. We just don't know. I know some off you guys stay up nights thinking of things to be negative about but right now Kadri is giving us nothing but reason to be optimistic.

The Leafs staff have said all along they see him as a top six forward but want to see him dominate in the A . He had a great week, let's see if he has a good month, lets see if he is a scoring leader when/if the season starts. If he does these things he will get a real chance to be on the team, then you can actually begin to make informed speculations about the direction of his pro career.

I haven't said anything about him being a Sundin. Just seems like you use semantics to lower the worth of Kadri.

It would be nice seeing them playing on the same line together.

I just don't think you are taking it far enough.

League wide retired number or league wide banned number.

Or something in between.

Maybe I am misinterpreting the definition of "great"?

I've seen one heck of a lot of NHL players over the past 50+ years, so maybe my perspective on great is different.

Guys, he's not even a very very good player. He is a very good player at best... terrible.

i think making predictions and giving opinions about a player's future is part of the fun. everyone likes to play the role of hockey scout. nothing wrong with giving an opinion on a player's future.

seems to me its ok to say he'll be great, but not ok to say he'll be nothing.

Of course it is. However, you are on a Leafs board and you are going to be met with people who strongly oppose your view because of the venue.

I would expect to be met with the same type of comments if I went onto Crackberry.com and said that Blackberry 10 will bust.

If you check the AHL's top 20 scorers their are picks taken later than 7th overall it clearly indicates that Kadri in his 3rd year is sorely lacking in production. It also clearly shows that a 2nd rd Defenceman is clearly the Class of the League and he'll continue this in the NHL.

Hopefully he won't. He needs people on his line who can actually finish in the NHL.

But he is ahead of your stud; Ryan Johansen

One down now he's seriously going to be chasing Bruce Boudreau's title. J/K

I didn't know 20 year old Johansen was 6'3", 221 lbs. Probably why he was able to play the season in the NHL. Kadri probably look good on his wing. Wonder what his mature size is going to be?
