Apparently David Wright is pretty pissed about the extension offer the Mets sent his way... and he wants more years. Not sure what kind of money he's looking at, but a Rizzo-Barney-Starlin-Wright infield would be damn tempting.

Apparently he wants 7/$125M... I'd give him that.
I would too. He'd take a load of off Castro's back on that side of the infield.
Yeah, that's not even a question, very reasonable, sign him up. We'd be stacked on the infield. Baez could play outfield or maybe just maybe second like I've wanted if we got a premier 3B somehow. Kent like offense from 2B has always been a dream of mine.

Offense from 2nd, short, CF and catcher are the most valuable things you can find.

Man, the more I think about it, the more awesome it would be to have him... and yeah, his range over there, and overally defensive prowess, would be awesome to have in addition to his bat. His legs should still be good for some steals the next 2-3 years as well.

Are you saying you want stud defense, or are glad we finally have it? Barney is as good as it gets defensively.
I don't think for a second that it will actually happen, but it would be awesome to see. Since it's November, lets day dream a bit more and throw Bourn at the top of that lineup...

I'd rather not get Wright and save up to give Price the moon.
I would be against that, especially since our only legit SP prospect is coming off of TJ surgery... and we don't exactly have many other pitching prospects worth a damn.
However, with Starlin locked up at a cheap price... Soriano coming off the books soon, why not go after Wright AND Price? Only thing you'd then have to do is figure out how to get Rizzo locked up... but we're seeing younger players like him getting locked up earlier and earlier to long term deals to buy out their arbitration years, so it's certainly feasible to eventually extend him at a club friendly deal as well.
Their play at that point just didn't make it look like they were capable of a comeback. Still some time to make it happen but still a lot of ground to make up.
Preached constantly to trade him while his value was high... no idea why they didn't.
Can't remember who or what team, but someone had a bad injury at 1B... or had an injury elsewhere that they could have moved their 1B to the position where the injury was. No idea why nothing happened...
