Jaroslav Spacek retires

Obviously been confirmed and there's a thread on the main board, but I thought this was thread-worthy considering Spacek had some solid years here and had possibly the best season of his career in Buffalo in 08-09.

I still miss the guy here and he really was pretty darn good for us for the most part. I loved his shot and him and Soupy were good paired together. I also met him when he was here and he was a great professional and person. Extremely nice, outgoing, and willing to interact with the fans. I loved watching him play for us. I wish him the best in retirement. He's a guy I didn't want to let go but for the money he got from Montreal and the way our defense turned out in recent years I understand why he was let to walk and it worked out for the best for us anyway.

It's always unfortunate when careers end on sour notes like injuries and lockouts. He was a consistent performer on the ice, great shot; quite the character off the ice, for example:

The PP shot and his exuberant fist pump celebrations when he scored is always what I'll remember out of him.

The pigeon sticks out as a great Spacek moment here.
