Yea it's nice to have a prospect like Mark in the system. Last season he was sent back to juniors with some clear direction on what to work on. Fast forward 12 months and those opportunities to get better have been dealt with nicely. This is one of the by products of drafting a high character player IMHO. Nice to have a no maintenance date as one of our top prospects.

If he plays 55 games in the OHL this year, with a WJC's stint, he's on pace for 40+ goals and 90+ points. That would be a great year for Scheif.

I have something to bring that I'm a little concerned about (not a lot just a little). Kosma has been pointless for 3 games in a row. Incidently he did not play on the top line those 3 games.

Anyone seen the Guelph games? Is it because he's seperated from Mitchell or bad luck or not doing well?

Grr: Neulion is a pain in the you know what - ALWAYS service issues for either the AHL or OHL live streams. Makes me wonder why I bother supporting them by paying for streams.

O'Connor from Scheifele on the PP late in the 1st. Scheifele prevents a clearing pass, and feeds O'Connor for the goal. 1-0 Barrie, and Scheifele's points keep piling up.

Side note: Barrie's had 2 goals disallowed this period.

Scheifele strips the puck from a Sudbury d-man, and instantly buries a backhand. Poor Sudbury player had no time to react.

7-2 for the Colts. 1G 1A for Scheifele, with 4:40 left in the 3rd.

That was a sweet goal!

Scheifele now has 14 points over his last seven games, including 9 goals.

Call the cops, that d-man wuz ROBBED!

Scheifele's on quite the tear - his PPG keeps climbing. He really seems to be getting more and more comfortable out there: it's really looking like he's ready for the next level of competition (WJC, AHL, NHL), and certainly will be at the end of this year. Thankfully, the AHL is an option for him next year, if he doesn't stick with the Jets. I have a feeling though that he's not going to let the NHL opportunity pass by him.

TSN ratings are out for each CHL league.

I never really think too highly of these...
Scheifele is #4 in O
Kosmachuk is #44 in O

No one else is in on the Jets (unless I missed it)

So, I guess I'm the only one here that has noticed the Sportsnet CHL ads that prominently feature both Scheifele and Sutter!

Enjoy...

Ya I saw them too. Sutter wasn't too much of a surprise for media to focus on even with having a bad year:
NHL family
Played in summer series
Drafted by Canadian team
Etc

AIH Articles

New week, new updates

NCAA:

Arctic Ice Hockey:
NCAA Tracker: Coverage of Jacob Trouba and Brennan Serville straight from Ann Arbor, MI
Written by a STH of MU and his first, of hopefully many, updates on Trouba and Serville. Please feel free to comment and welcome him

CHL:

Arctic Ice Hockey:
Winnipeg Jets Prospect Tracker: Mark Scheifele and Ryan Olsen like to score goals
Written by yours truly. Please feel free to comment either here or there (or both)

AHL:
Arctic Ice Hockey:
St. John's IceCaps
Our first prospect tracker is currently being written but until then we do have Ryan Fancey who regularly posts updates as a St. John's STH. I'll add it once the AHL writeup is done

EDIT:
Oh, almost forgot. Unrelated to prospects, AIH has a contest with an actual tangible reward. I'm unsure of the HFBoard rules so I'll just say either PM me or just go to AIH to find out about it if you're interested.

Post-Edit edit:
Truck has finished the AHL writeup:
Winnipeg Jets AHL Tracker: Poor puck luck sinks IceCaps' point production

Sportsnet also starts airing the Blades documentary series this week, and Sutter is definitely one of the main "characters" in it for all those reasons.

Looks like Ryan Murray might have to miss the WJC due to a dislocated shoulder this past weekend. That would really hurt us.

On the plus side, it would open the doors to somebody else to prove themselves.

That is true and if the NHL season starts by then (LOL) Murray might be with the Jackets anyways.

Not that Murray isn't a very good player, but we do seem to have lots of depth on d. He would help, no doubt, but for him to not be there isn't disasterous, imo.

I think we'll score a few goals and Subban looks to be on his game.

LW Jason Dickinson with a hat trick. Definitely a solid prospect to keep an eye on for this draft.
