a locker room fight is apparently what has sparked this move to Barrie as well.

I hope he is taking this as a last chance to turn it around and stop fighting teammates and grow up a little. If this somehow happens I would be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it as this is not the first time.

Props to Tyson Fawcett for sticking up for his teammates tonight and dropping the gloves with 6'5" Brown.

One needs to giggle when you read some of posts on other sites.

One is saying Hall looks invisible playing with less talented partners. 5 points in his last 3 games? To me he is playing great and that's not invisible.

I saw that as well but I will say Hall was playing really well with Athanasiou and then Hawerchuk changed the lines every game since then.

Don't disagree Hall played well with him. Hall is also playing well now is all I'm saying.

Maybe it's not so much about Hall as it is about the poster wanting others to play with Hall.

How's it looking now? Throw in Fawcett too. Good managerial job there Dale.

Another reason Smoskowitz is playing well is that he is on a line long enough to have some chemistry rather than a different line every second game.

He was scoring from his first game with Mississauga. Now the chemistry is great. Dale never gave him a chance in his 2nd year. Put him on the 4th line from training camp, obviously didn't like his game. This year didn't even make 4th line.

So what does everyone think of Lemieux so far in his 2 games? Definitely a good player and I hope it works out for the colts.

I think he is a decent player but a ticking time bomb. There are many better players not playing in the 'O' that unfortunately didnt have a dad who played in the National League ot help pull some levers.
He has proven time and time again that he does not care for team concept and it is all about him.

I haven't followed the whole thread but I'd like to hear your thoughts on Dale Hawerchuk and the Colts' coaching staff in general. Outside of his first season as a coach, he seems to be doing well.

He does well because he has talent to work with. He also has a personal agenda. Some of his moves reflect this.

You mean Dale's constant connection to the Orangeville guys? Or to Lemieux? He was never a real x's and o's coach rather winging plays and strategies off the top of his head. Does communicate fairly well with the players and gets respect for who he is and what he's done. He's still effective as a coach but not of the same caliber as Todd Gill. If they switched teams Dale would not fair near as well as Gill has.

I haven't seen enough this year to comment, but I had season tickets and wasn't terribly happy with what he did with the team last year. The power play is potent enough, but the penalty kill more than overshadows that. What success they do have on special teams is as a result of the players, not the coaching. His player selection leaves your head scratching. At one point he had a crazy 5-forwards Minor Atom powerplay going (that would get scored on short handed). He changes his lines continuously so no chemistry can be formed. His use of time outs is often questionable. I can remember one time in two years where he actually called a time out when appropriate and set up a play that worked. As someone else mentioned he definitely relies more on his reputation than actual tactics.

Does anyone know if they renewed his contract? Or is he done after this year?

I haven't heared that he has been extended. If he has another sucessful season I assume he will though. Unless he gets a AHL or NHL job he will probably be back.

I can't believe Fawcett isn't playing today. Maybe Dale has finally realized he isn't good enough to play in the top 6.

Good weekend for them overall winning all 3 games. Fotinos played well in both games he played, especially the Sudbury game. Tough test in Owen Sound this week.

The team is in good hands with Fotinos for the future.

I just noticed that Nikolai Prokhorkin is not on the manchester monarchs roster any more. Anybody know if he is coming to Barrie or back to the KHL?

Give him more time, Ive never seen a 15 yr old kid shoot his mouth off so much at refs, teammates and coaches. I personally dont think he will drop with the mitts with anyone who is tough although he will have a few guys begging to deal with him.
