options: Ceci, Reinhart, Percy, Corrado, Dumba

While Percy may not be the best player out of the group, I feel like he best fills the hole Murray leaves style wise. Quiet, solid, consistent.

From there, it's between Ceci and Dumba in my opinion and I'd lean towards Ceci. I think he does everything Dumba can be offensively, and is less of a worry in his own end. I have not been convinced by Dumba's play at all in pressure situations thus far.

My Team Canada Murray-less D looks like this:

Rielly - Hamilton
Percy - Harrington
Murphy - Ouellet
Ceci
I kindly differ with you. Remove Percy and Ceci for Siemens and reinhart. Ceci more than dumba.
Order:

reinhart
Siemens

Ceci dumba Percy
Everyone else who I don't know

Spott sees Percy alot more, but you have to think Siemens gets some serious consideration in that #3 hole

Murray going down opens up a spot on the PK, so I think that Reinhart's chances have been boosted. Would someone like to rank the bubble defencemen just on their skating ability?

Dumba looked great on big ice the times I've seen him but has under-performed in International competition this season.

Siemens admittedly did slip my mind somehow. I would not take Reinhart over Percy or Ceci however. If you're going to give up some mobility and bring some size, it better be a guy who uses it. Reinhart is huge and very mobile for a guy his size, but he is far from a physical force. If we're not getting an intimidating physical presence, I'd rather bring a smaller guy with size and more offensive ability like Ceci.

Is there absolutely any chance Reece Scarlett makes it?

Seems to me like he has way too many defenseman to vault over.

Very doubtful.

With Murray out hurt you may see any of Percy, Sproul, Corrado or someone like Siemens make a final push for the roster. I think the elimination of one lock from the roster really opened things up quite a bit now.

Hamilton Rielly

Ouellet Harrington

Reinhart Murphy

Any of Ceci, Percy, Sproul or Corrado could be here. But I'm sure I'm probably missing someone obvious and will feel dumb after this post

Every D moves up spot and either one of Dumba or Pullock takes the 7th d spot.

My bet for the new D corps:

Oullet-Hamilton
Rielly-Murphy
Harrington-Siemens
Dumba

I think theyll have Dumba over Corrado, because if they put Corrado there and Rielly is in the NHL in 2013 then they will have no one on the blueline with WJC experience for next year.

I think reinhart will be there for the sixth spot but for the seventh I think in this order
Seimens Ceci dumba (both these guys will be back next year) every one else
But I think seimens skating will be good enough for the big Ice and he brings BIG body

Dumba is probably now a lock because he is generally very good on the big ice surface. He brings mobility and a bit of a physical presence. I say that as not being a big fan of his.

Ouellet - Hamilton

Reilly - Harrington

Siemens - Murphy

Dumba

This is Ceci's last year of eligibility since he is a '93. He was also brutal in the SS, so I doubt he makes the cut

How about reinhart and Siemens they both did well in the SSS
It's dumba that didn't do well, that's just from what I saw on tv.

I think the locks are ouellette Hamilton Reilly Harrington
Murphy reinhart and the battle will be done between seimens dumba Ceci going with seimens

Surprised to see so many putting Siemens in there after how hes been the last year or so, getting his captaincy stripped. I think he'll battle for the 7th spot with the guys I mentioned earlier but why are so many thinking hes in the top 6 all of a sudden?

He played well in the Super Series and has been very solid since

He wasn't. He didn't generate anything offensively but he did nothing wrong defensively. On the other hand Ceci had numerous turnovers and extremely poor decision making in the offensive zone (He played like those guys in the stands who scream "SHOOT" everytime someone gets the puck in the offensive zone, even when he had guys actually open to pass to).

I'm one of Murphy's biggest supporters, but he was terrible defensively in the Guelph game. He led directly to the winning goal being scored, and his pairing was on the ice for the tying goal as well (although it was more Koekkoek's fault).

Murphy will be on the team due to Spott being his coach and no one else having the same kind of skillset as him

First bolded point, I'd also say that 2nd goal came to a really poor back check from MacDavid, he was right there, just didn't do anything.

2nd point - Morgan Rielly seems to be able to do exactly what Murphy does.

It'll be a joke if Murphy is there IMO.
