I'm asking what that event was. There's no call for being a ****** about it. Did Schultz get injured or something? A few weeks back the Oiler fans were telling Duck fans how great their defense was, now there are a million threads looking for trades.

Yup...and for some reason, a pile of Yakupov proposals...

I wasn't trying to be but I'm fairly certain that the lockout has an effect on these crazy proposals? I think it's pretty obvious. And I doubt that the Oil fans are sincerely trying to trade their darlings away, imo they think they have the best young core in the game and this trade proposal is simply a head to head of theirs vs ours if I didn't know any better. I sure would love Yakupov reunited with Gally though

I think this trade will go down... on Dec. 22 (provided that Earth explodes on Dec. 21 of course).

Sorry, I mistook it for snark.

Stage IV of Lockout Fever makes sense.

As long as he plays with Patches I'll be happy; for the sake of our national side. Though I wish he would have centered Bobby and Kyle.

plenty of options in net going forward.. Plenty of goalies around that believe they are too good to be backups.. No need breaking the bank on a Price when you can get a Backstrom, Bernier, Markstrom, Neuvirth at a much cheaper cost.

There would be a lot of burned jerseys from both sides if this went down... All those Horcoff and Gomez jerseys.

Bad deal for the Habs, losing their franchise player, number 1 Dman, and a young 30+ goal scoring winger, for 3 out of the Big 4, a washed up veteran (better than Gomez), and a average goalie.

Yeah, no thanks.

^i always find it funny when i read how "average" Dubnyk is supposed to be. check his stats the past 2 years on a couple of pretty bad teams...they ain't so bad and he's outshined Khabby both years by a lot. fact is we just don't know if DD is average or not until he plays 55+ games and starts for at least a couple of seasons.

Poor choice of words. Unproven would be better. He's proven to be a good NHL backup, but when it comes to being a starter, IDK if he is.

I'm against trading any solid assists for goaltending.

They're only as good as their team and there's not much seperating the best starter in the league from the worst backup.

Shrink the equipment and everything I've said probably gets reversed.
Not trading top end talent for a shoot tooter though.

Eberle and Hall are better and valued higher [at a younger age] than any Canadiens player not named Price. As for Yakapov, he just got drafted #1 and would take a boatload to get based on potential.

I don't think Price alone gets Yakapov.

Edmonton would have to be crazy to do this IMO.

You gave no context.
you need to give the Comp and Zone start situation for the player. there is a clear average for points and +/- for each situation.

Gomez in 3rd comp 64% zone a 3.15EVP should have 24PTs and +17GD
was 8 points and -9.

Pacorietty who was 3rd comp and 50% should have been 45PT and even
he was 52PT and +2. so we can say he handles 3rd comp.

Horcoff who was 1st comp and 44% should have been 1.15EVP 24PT and -18 for situation was
24PT -23 -5 from average.
He can no longer handle 1st comp tough zone unlike when he was three of the best in NHL
07-08 53 GM +1 in -10; A full season +2 in a -15 situation +17 to average.
08-09 80GM +7 in a -23 situation; +30 to average.

But put him back in a 50% zone start against the other teams best
Horc and hall played in together in that over two years.

They get a goal every 22 min and were +8 in 31 games of minutes. which makes them 55G and +21 as an Even pair. 21 above average.

Hall's value clearly covers this. A guy who destroys the other teams best in even situation.

Eberle faced 2nd comp in a 60% zone start 3.08evPP/60 (2nd best in league) in a 2.55 situation. showed he could face uppwe 1st and lower 2nd with Smyth

Hall-Horc-XXX
Smyth-RNH-Eberle
Hartikainen-Gagner-Hemsky

where do you think Yakupov slots.

Price:
in starter qualified seasons a .916 Sv%
Sv% last 4 starter years .906, 912: .923, .916

Dubnyk
in starter qualified seasons a .915 Sv%
Sv % in his starter years .916; .914

So price is likely to be worse Save% 50% of the time or better 25% of the time.

Is that worth 3M/season more?

Plus last half of this season
Dubnyk played with
Smid-petry
Whitney-N. schultz/sutton
sutton/Peckham-Potter
he was .750 win% 2.11GA .930SV%

So 4 of our 6 forwards who can destroy tough comp in a 50-55% situation.
Our goalie who, in full seaon 2, showed .930Sv % potential in a 25 game stretch.

PLEASE! PLEASE! LOOK AT SITUATIONAL RESULTS VERSUS THE AVERAGE BEFORE POSTING!

PS: There is no one uneducated enough to think that:

1. the chance to score when starting in the offensive zone is equal to the chance to score when starting in your d zone. getting procession, moving the puck into the offesive zone in a 40-45 second shift.
2. Facing the first line goal producers is the same as 4th line goal producers.

Do your home work!

3M more for the same Save %.

Price .912Sv% 13W 20L; .916 SV% 26W 28L

Dubnyk: .916 SV% 12W 13L .914 SV% 20W 20L

Less buy in to the eastern hype please!

Oilers get screwed in this. Price is the most valuable piece in the trade. But Hall and Eberle are more valuable than PK and Pac. Plus Gomez is less valuable than Horcoff. Plus Dubnyk isn't a star goalie, but his stats show he can get the job done. Don't see the difference between Price and Dubnyk as being a 1st overall pick, no way in hell
