If there is no season this year I'm canceling my season tickets next year. It's not worth my time to get very excited about this team and have another lock out in 5-7 years when we're ready to have a good run at the cup.

Plus I'm just starting to get resentful towards the owners and players and am starting to not want to spend money again.

After the last lock out I didn't start watching hockey again until 2009. This may happen again.

Oh damn. I'm just too much a sucker for hockey (NHL), if the lockout went on for more than a year, as soon as the first pre-season game comes on, I'll be prepared.

Hey, we're still far apart. So let's take a break to see if both sides will magically get a deal done! Great plan guys, nice way to piss the fans off even more

My solution to this mess: Players can keep their 57% but guaranteed contracts are out the window.

There, win-win for all.

I wish the NHL and PA learned from the last little round of negotiations and didn't address the media every day. They always just use it as a chance to get on their soapboxes and further dig their heels in. The PR game is over, they need to realize they are at the edge of a cliff and just get something done

Bettman says the league is losing 18-20 million dollars a day, yet they can't seem to negotiate a $182 million dollar gap in proposals. Seems logical.

The profitable teams sure are losing money, not the poor teams. Obviously the gap isn't 200m over 5 years, if it is which seems to be what's out there, then yea it's dumb.

Alright lets choose the cities.

1. Vancouver,
2. Calgary,
3. Edmonton,
4. Winnipeg,
5. Toronto,
6. Ottawa,
7. Montreal,
8. Quebec City
9. New York City
10. Boston
11. Detroit
12. Chicago
13. Markham
14. Seattle
15. L.A.
16. San Jose
17. Minnesota
18. Washington
19. Pittsburgh
20. Philadelphia
21. San Jose
22. Colorado
23. Dallas
24. New York Islanders

Reason I left NYI on there is because they are moving to a better arena, closer to their rivals and in an area that has a higher population density.

Hard salary cap at $50m

Contracts can only be max length of 5 years. Cap hit matched contract. 255m 5y contract is 5m cap hit.

I think we'll have an NHL this year. I just can't see the players and the NHL both going the full year.

It is the headstrong owners vs the headstrong players.

They happen to be the minority.

Once the majority of owners and players start speaking up, things will start moving.

It's either they leave or everyone they represent does (players joining other leagues and owners doing their own thing), something has to give if this keeps up.

I don't even give a **** anymore. Just cancel the season already and get rid of all this false hope the fans are clinging too.

Talk of decertifying the union in the future if the league continues to stiff-arm CBA negotiations by using lockouts. Would open up a huge can of worms in pro sports, although the NFL's players tried the same thing and were rejected by the Courts.
