This year's FA crop has pretty much been a failure.
Sad but true, though you do have to wonder if they didn't get levied with the cap fine would they have gone for VJAX, Brandon Carr, Ben Grubbs, Carl Nicks, etc..
Measuring stick game tomorrow. National stage against hated rival in their place with playoff hopes riding on the outcome. Definitely can't **** the bed.

George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
Anyone that thinks we cant make the playoffs probably thought the Caps would not make the playoffs when Bruce took over during thanksgiving.
I bet those same Skins fans thought we would not make the playoffs the year Taylor got killed, and especially after the double timeout Buffalo disaster.
It's all about getting hot late in the year. Look at the Giants last year.
While I think our team sorely lacks a backup running back, Kyle showed signs of not overworking Morris last game. He stayed in the game, and our play action was unstoppable. If we have a threat to run, we can pass. If we can pass, we can outscore opponents. It's that simple. It how Mike rolls.
Where the team gets killed on, is in short yardage. Our lightweight OL cannot bulldoze on 3rd and 1 out of a run heavy formation. So Kyle runs wide out of it.
We need to go play action from run heavy, or, line up 4 wide, and then run up the gut.
Kyle must also try and pass in goal to go. Running wide is ugly especially when he doesnt even give III a pass option.
Haslet needs to keep heat off his secondary and on QB's if our offense stumbles.
The Skins are in the hunt for a playoff spot based on the record of all the teams in the NFC East, but I remain in the no playoffs category simply based on the number of injuries suffered by the Skins to this point and the potential for more injuries as the season comes to an end. A lot of injuries means a lot of young players are having to play, and while that is good experience for the young players, that also means penalties, poor execution and un-even play will continue for the rest of the season. All things playoffs teams do not do.
Essentially if you haven't lost your 7th game, you're still in the thick of it, but come on...nobody really expects the Skins to be there when it all shakes out....

When Bruce took over the Caps, the season was roughly 1/4 done. The Redskins are more than 60% done with their season. I realize the rest of the division is junk, but it's still going to take a 10-6 or 9-7 record to win the division. That means the Redskins have to go 6-0 or 5-1 the rest of the way. Counting the Eagles win, do you really think this team can win 7 games in a row?
Experience for the kiddies, thats what I am looking for the rest of the way. If its going to take Griffin 2-3 years to hit his prime then it will be the same for players like Jenkins, Kerrigan, Robinson, Paulson, Gomes, Riley, etc... If the Skins remain in the playoff hunt so much the better.
The one player on the Skins having a pro-bowl season and is not getting credit for his play is Mr. Silverback. That kid is playing lights out and is developing into one hell of a LT. The way he has bounced back from his drug suspension is such a pleasant surprise. I thought there was a chance the kid regressed after being embarrassed with that 4 game suspension. The opposite is clearly the case. Can't emphasize enough how significant that is.

Thank you for already writing exactly what I was going to write when I saw that drivel...
I'm not "nitpicking," I'm addressing the topic at hand (the 'Skins 2012 playoff hopes) rather than engaging your ad hominem attacks. My opinions on other matters aren't relevant in assessing their playoff odds this year.
RG3 had an excellent game. But he did so against a team is absolute disarray, only threw 15 passes, and we're still only a 4-6 team. How are you so bullish on a team that lost to the Panthers?
This is the best quarter of Redskins football I've seen in a while. Absolutely dominant. I don't think it's possible to play better than Robert did in that quarter.
