You think the Kings will get respect for Aranky's sidekick......If we added Worrel,Domi,Flinn,Cairns, and Norton comes back, then he'd probably have the Kings as 1st.

Imagine the scores.
St. Louis would win the first three game 8-5, 5-4, 6-3

And then Vancouver woud win 9-7, 6-4, and 7-5

Who knows what would happen in game 7?

Just a few nights ago you posted the Flyers can take the Devils in 7 games. Which one is it?

I think it was "you should know what the hell your talking about" since I didn't post anything like that.

Last think I posted about the Devils was in the "which team do you hate" thread where I said I hate them because "they own us".

I think we should be used to this by now. Kings are always under the radar... I think it's a good thing.

depressing. But you're probably right about the SC Finals, at least in my mind. Ottawa doesnt look improved from last year. Philly doesnt have a playoff goalie. Detroit is looking awesome as of late and might knock Colo. out, but I don't think they will. St.Louis is another who might knock COL out, but that depends on the play of Osgood. Its still too soon for tampa in my mind, but with experience, they could go all the way in the future.

Calgary will not make the playoffs. Every year this happens. The Flames get on a bit of a role, and the Flames fans are raving about how they're playoff bound and are demanding the respect of people. Then, eventually it tails off and the Flames miss the playoffs.. again.

hmm I guess

the only time we really were looking playoff bound was Oct-Nov 2001...sure the odd other time the Flames strung some games together but were never really sitting firmly in a playoff spot

so they choked in '01. will they do it again? sure, its quite possible, any Flames fan who thinks the playoffs are a lock is deluded...but here's a partial list of new players since November 2001: Warrener,Leopold,Ference, Kiprusoff, Reinprecht, Gelinas, Yelle, Donovan, Lombardi, Kobasew (plus a few slugs Montador,Morgan,Oliwa etc) not to mention Sutter....a completely different crew

Allison is closer to coming back. It's more like "days and weeks" for him, because his problems aren't physical, they are chemical. They are saying sometime next month.

Deader, however, may not ever play again....sad....

I agree, I really like the look of this team, but I'll call them a playoff team the day they clinch a berth, not a second earlier.

That is too bad Deader was one of my favorite players. He always seemed to play better in the big games.

West:
1). Vancouver
2). Detroit
3). Los Angeles
4). Colorado
5). St. Louis
6). Dallas
7). Calgary
8). Anahiem

(1)Vancouver vs (8)Anahiem: Canucks in 6. The Ducks hope for another miracle run. Giguere never gets on track.
(2)Detroit vs (7)Calgary: Wings in 5. Gallant effort, but the Wings are too much.
(3)Los Angeles vs (6) Dallas: Stars in 7. Palffy Allison and the Kings put up a mighty fight, but Turco stones them in the last two games to win the series for the Stars
(4)Colorado vs (5)St. Louis: Best opening round series but the Blues win in 6 as Abescheir cannot out duel Osgood.

(1)Vancouver vs (6)Dallas: Canucks in 7. This is a toss up.. but the Canucks will be riding a wave of confidence that the Stars cannot match. Naslund and Jovanovski shine in this series.
(2)Detroit vs (5)St. Louis: Blues in 7. Hasek and the Wings both beat up and get beaten by the Blues. Osgood has another great series, but Weight and Tkachuk will be too much for the Wings to handle.

(1)Vancouver vs (5) St. Louis: Canucks in 6. The Blues are too tired from beating the Avs and the Wings. Cloutier will be better than average, but the real star is Jovanovski, Salo, Ohlund and Allen who shut down the Blues.

Eastern Confrence
1). Philadelphia
2). Ottawa
3). Tampa Bay
4). New Jersey
5). Toronto
6). Boston
7). Atlanta
8). Montreal

(1)Philly vs (8)Montreal: Flyers in 6. Theo steals a couple, but not 4 games.
(2)Ottawa vs (7)Atlanta: Sens in 5. The thrashers are just happy to be there, and bow nicely to a better team.
(3)Tampa Bay vs (6)Boston: My upset. Boston in 6. The Bruins are physically bigger and they use their size to their advantage.
(4) Devils vs (5) Leafs: Hell on Ice. Leafs in 7 as the Devils are due for another playoff letdown.

(1) Philly vs. (6)Boston: Flyers in 4. The Bruins won't be able to score on the Flyers. Totally different than the Lightning.
(2)Sens vs (5) Leafs: Sens revenge... Sens in 6 as the Leafs are now taunted by the fans from the nations capital.

(1)Philly vs. (2) Sens: Flyers in 6. They get over the mental stumbling block and beat the Sens.

SCF: Flyers vs Canucks: I don't want to think who might win... it is too late here.

As of right now in the West (can't say I know enough about the East currently):

1. Colorado
2. St Louis
3. Vancouver
4. Detroit
5. Nashville
6. LA
7. Calgary
8. San Jose

Top two were hard because St Louis has been doing so well with so many out (same with LA), but I think that Colorado is maybe just a touch ahead right now. Both look real tough. Number eight was also tough. I had to go with points. San Jose, Anaheim, Phoenix, Edmonton and Dallas all are rather inconsistent. Not that they are bad teams but they everything just isn't clicking consistently.

Come spring, I figure that the representative of the West will be none other than the Golden Seals of Oakland back from the dead. Everyone will be so spooked, they'll just give them the Campbell trophy and slink away from the arena (come on, you really think I'm going to make predictions now?!)
