He's a jobless UFA player with very few chance to get back to NHL level.

to be honest I didn't even know he was in the twilight of his career. Surely he'll be good enough to a veteran leader back there.

The guy has crumbled as a player but even a fringe NHL player should be an AHL top 4.

Pretty much this, if he can mentor the younger guys a little and bring some experience to the lineup what not have him around I guess.

Great signing for the Dogs. They desperately need veteran presence and a big physical D, even if he didn't live up to his salary in the NHL, is exactly the right component to add to the young D mix.

Like others, I'm still hoping for a legit AHL scoring winger to be added to the mix, but this is a very good addition to the squad.

Never a bad thing to have a cup winner and top 10 playoff beard on our farm team.

What to expect:

- Good teammate
- Experience: been to the Stanley Cup finals twice and one it once
- Composure
- slow skating, shot blocking defender who will defend his teammates
- big hair
- solid Tweets
- stabilizing presence for the younger defensemen. I have been saying all along that one verteran and 5-6 rookie d-men is not a recipe for success in any league.

We never know. He might ne useful down the road for the Habs IF there is a season, and IF guys like Markov, Emelin, Diaz and Weber decide NOT TO come back to NHL hockey this year or ever...

For the veteren scoring aspect of the bulldogs, it seems as though Bergevin was depending heavily on Leblanc (not a vet, but still a second year ahl player who produced well in his first season), Palushaj and Geoffrion to carry the load. Geoffrion and Leblanc went down early. We'll see how Bergevin reacts on this front. Would be nice to get a vet so we don't have the three rookies playing together (Bournival, Holland and Gallagher). Would like them to be split up and get some ice time with decent ahl vets who can produce.

He never does.

Hopefully he grows out his hair and beard so he can be Hamilton's Youppi.

Nice move by Bergevin, now i would like a veteran forward who could center Gallagher, a bit like Keith Aucoin is doing with Kadri, it can only be beneficial for his development and confidence to start putting more points on the board even if he is carried a little bit.
