Kiper isn't any more or less credible than any one person. He just found a market for it 30 years ago when no one else was paying much attention

Mike Mayock and even Todd Mcshay are world's better than Kiper these days. He has too much of an agenda.

Todd McShay is definitely not better than Kiper. Mark Sanchez? Blaine Gabbert? He hyped the holy hell out of them.

McShay is a Kiper knock-off. Don't forget his 180 on McFadden.

Kiper agenda/bias on full display with regards to the 2006 NFL draft

Still hestiates to say Jay Cutler is best QB of that class

Assuming the Jaguars stay in the #2 hole, since Barkley has fallen WAAAAYYY down most boards. I'm thinking Jarvis Jones in the 1st, Razorbacks QB Tyler Wilson in 2nd, and some form of Offensive Lineman in the 3rd. Brad Meester is 36 so a C would be good, and we could also use a RT if Eben Britton doesn't come back. With Nwaneri//Spitz//Rackley at Guard I think we're okay, and Eugene Monroe is a solid LT.

Thoughts?

Jarvis Jones has spinal stenosis. It's an issue that could shorten his career. Recently, LT Marcus McNeill had to retire at 28 due to that issue.

It could be an issue that makes him drop.

If Bray comes out, he'll be the first QB taken based solely on his physical tools. The kid is immature and all, but at least he'll be a Stafford/Cutler clone.

There is no way Bray is taken as first QB of draft

He is a 2nd round projection currently

Star Lotuleilei maybe. Tho I think the Jags need a OLB more than a DT, especially if Daryl Smith leaves. Guy is a beast tho, and I'd definetly rather him than they reach for someone. Best Player Available please haha

Id like Te'o as an Eagle, though not sure what they would do wih Ryans. Peter King had him on his All Pro team for the halfway mark. But you cant go wrong with Manti Te'o.

That's the issue with him. USC though he wasnt fit to play and Georgia gave him a chance and he has been dominant. Will some NFL overlook that and take him in the top 10? Because without it he is without a doubt a top 5 pick, possibly even the top pick.

- Browns will take Mingo I think. I don't buy into the Mingo hype, but as an athlete he's a freak. He's a strict 3-4 OLB, and I think the Browns take him instead of Moore (mistake I think but Browns will Brown).

- Raiders take Geno if he's there. Palmer is garbage. They need some sort of future at QB. Geno is probably that guy for them. (they also invested a recent top-10 pick in McClain so I doubt they invest another so soon)

- Last one for now but I'm not sure Dion Jordan goes that high. I'm a big fan of his, but he's a bit of an unknown. Oregon uses him weird. For example, on passing downs, he is used as a CB to cover guys instead of rushing the passer at times. We don't know the extent of his pass rushing capabilities. Super versatile and an athletic freak, but he needs some polish. I see him latter third of the 1st.

Nice mock though!
For the Raiders, they need either DL or a CB. QB, they can still manage with Palmer for a bit longer. I have no faith that Pryor will be their QB one day, so I don't understand why the Raiders are not converting Pryor into a TE in the Hernandez mold. He's 6'6 and 235 lbs right now. So, if he bulked up to 245 or so, he'd be able to fill that role alongside Myers. He won't be a blocking TE, but he's a guy you could line up a halfback and pitch him the ball or throw to over the middle.

As for Jones, his health concerns will make him drop, but even if he retired at age 28, it would be ok for a team drafting outside the top 10-15. Think about how many 2006 draft picks from round 1 aren't playing with their original team? About half of them: (Not familiar with each of the 32 guys, but here's who I know about

Mario Williams
Reggie Bush
Vince Young
Donte Whitner
Matt Leinart
Ernie Sims
Jay Cutler - Trade
Kamerion Whimbley
Bobby Carpenter
Antonio Cromartie
Lawrence Maurony
Jon Joseph
Santonio Holmes
Joseph Addai

These guys were let go and signed with another team via free agency or traded for mid round picks. Cutler landed Denver 2 1st rounders.

If Barkley or Geno are already taken, I'd prefer they use the pick on a LB.

#1 KC (1-10) - Big weekend for their tank with Jags, Browns AND Panthers winning
#2 JAC (2-9)
#3 PHI (3-8) - due to .504 SOS
#4 OAK (3-8) - due to .512 SOS
#5 CLE (3-8) - due to .525 SOS
#6 CAR (3-8) - due to .570 SOS

Then a whole slew of 4-7 teams, SD has the weakest SOS among them.

Carolina still has KC, Oakland, and SD so they'll have a say in all of this.

Well Carolina ended their chances with the win tonight. What a waste of a year. Basically Smith and Williams both get a year older, and Newton shows flashes of Jamarcus Russell. Just watch them rip off four wins now and Rivera get brought back.

I know, but his workouts will be incredibly better than Barkley or Smith.

I think Jevan Snead is still out there somewhere, waiting for the 32 NFL teams that would take him first overall (according to McShay) to sign him to their practice squad.

Damontre Moore didn't completely shut the door on coming out, and if Jarvis Jones isn't the pick due to health concerns, Jags should be interested. Ideally, a trade down would be great to the 7-10 range. Te'o may still be around or Milliner(CB out of 'Bama) would be a good fit.

Tyran Mathieu will enter the draft. Given his drug history alone, I don't see him going any higher than the 5th round. He hasn't played in over a year plus he was being saved constantly by Claiborne and the safeties.

5th might be a bit low, I'd say 4ish, maybe *VERY* low 3rd. He's this year's Janoris Jenkins imo

I'd love to get either of them (Te'o or Milliner), but problem is I think, who do we trade down with? After Geno goes 1st, there will be a run of defensive players I think, I just dunno who on the 5-10 list will want to trade UP for a DE or LB

He has a substance abuse issue, that's a massive red flag and he's not very good in man coverage.

I agree with you 100%, I just think somewhere out there a GM would be willing to take a risk on him based on athleticism alone. He's a very recognizable name, and fans would be excited to see him in kick/punt returns.
