Has anyone ever played Dark Souls? Wow this game is tough.
I played it for month or two. At the end I actually didn't like it that much and felt it was a bit overrated. Combat was fun enough but after awhile I felt like I was just dying continuously until I could memorize an opponent's combat pattern. Most of the 'classes' felt the same to me; that is the core combat system was essentially the same. Dodge and strike, dodge and strike.
The art design was great but the story and world were totally nonsensical; there isn't really any NPC interaction or a fleshed-out, breathing fantasy world which is more of what I look for nowadays. It's sort of an 'old school' game in that approach.
Anyone going to be brave enough to go to Ikea on Wednesday?
I am steering clear until at least mid-late January
As much as I love IKEA, I am with you KW. I will wait til the second week of January or so. Unless of course they go 24/7 through the holidays (which they should do but most likely won't)
I can't wait to take it in.......with no NHL I am catching up on all this stuff.
Same, it's usually my offseason thing to do and apparently that's going on indefinitely. We're all going to be TV show experts.
I watched the 6 episodes of that Arrow show that are out. I quite enjoy it so far. It's a Smallville replacement for CW but it doesn't go the teen drama route, which is nice. I watched 7.5 seasons of Dexter as well and have all seasons of The Wire ready to go.
Yesterday's episode of Boardwalk Empire was the best one yet, if anyone is even a casual fan and missed it, you definitely have to watch it.
I've seen the first 5 or 6 episodes of the 1st season. I'll probably get back into it in the next few weeks, I really enjoyed it but didn't have the time to power through the episodes when I was originally watching it.
Now that the temperature is dropping and we should see some outdoor ice available soon if not already, do the posters from this board ever set-up informal games?
I ask because I know that the Vancouver board for one has such a thing going or or did, plus I'm always after an excuse to play especially since I can't watch my team on TV with this lockout.

I would love to start something like that. We had an outdoor rink thread last year but it didn't turn into much. I also wouldn't mind renting indoor ice for some shinny if we had 10 + 2 goalies (who would play for free ).
