That's kinda sad...

Even worse is that no one's learned from it.

Kind of late on this but when I was managing England in FM 2012, I chose a different CB over Ryan Shawcross to play for me during the WC. Unfortunately, I had an injury to another CB and needed deph so I chose Shawcross as replacement but he rejected the callup saying he was pissed for not being chosen at first. So, I never picked Shawcross from that day on. He deserved it

It's too easy for me managing montreal in MLS. I won the mls cup last year pretty easily, and this season first 25 games with no loss. 6 games left now and I'm easily heading to the top of the east. But i have injuries for 3 key players i hope they'll be ready for the playoffs. The problem now is that some of my players have their contract expiring at the end of the season and there is no way I'll be able to fit all my players under the cap. Valentin for example is paid 140k but he wants 250k for next season

How old is he buy then? Maybe bring in some Canadian talent?

I'm struggling on this version compared to the last.

He's 24 I guess. I'm in 2015. Brovsky is same age at a 84k contract and wants 220k

I'm in my 3rd season. 1st season I got eliminated in eastern semi finals. I won mls cup in the 2nd season and completely dominating the 3rd so far. It's the 1st year I play in the champions league.

Top players I recruited from outside
Facundo coria argentinian AMC. He's phenomenal. 26 yrs old. I play him behind the striker or as a LW. He scored 22 goals last season, he's got 12 so far this season. He's signed as a DP for 600k only.
Alfonso Alves. 34 yrs old striker. He's litterally destroying the league. 25 goals in 29 games this season so far. I dont think I'm going to re-sign him for next season though, he's gonna be 35 and he didnt accept a salary decrease, even though with his performances it's hard not to give him whatever he wants.
Jonathan dos Santos. Designated player. He's the general of the midfield. Completely dominates the midfield.
Joshua john. A dutch RW. 25 yrs old. He's got an outstanding pace.
A young left back from costa rica, he's a regen, only 18 yrs old. He's already a 4.5 star i bought him for so little and he's already a star. But he snubbed me and signed for a Ligue 1 team for next year the sob.

A defenseman called Vitulano graduated from my academy. He's already a starter and already a great defenseman at 19 yrs old. He's also a regular in the canada national team.

It's ridiculous that you have players who are at a goal per game...

I like the fact that you can start as a manger of national team and a club team in FM 2013. I didn't think you could do that in 12, started one as manger of Atlético Madrid and Belgium. Should be fun.

must... wait... until... examns... are... over...

This year I'm going to win the PL with Norwich. Never been able to place higher than 3rd, and on FM2012 my best finish was 5th.

Absolutely, Steam is DRM, no physical disk ever needed.

The transfer engine is ****ing stupid in this game.I get no offers for either Franck Ribery or Arjen Robben, even when I put the price at $16 million USD, which is more then $10 million less then their value.Or when I try to sign a 19 year old 4* potential player whose value is under 2 million and I can't even sign them for 10+ million. This isn't even fun it's just stupid and not realistic. It is literally impossible for me to sign any decent player or even sell my star players for anything of value.

Have never played the game before but I always read stories about bringing up mediocre teams and winning major leagues/competitions (e.g. Winning the Champions League with Huddersfield Town).

Is the game really easy or something? How do you make it so your team can start to dominate?

I'm definitely considering buying the game but I'm scared I'll get addicted.

You will. There's a ton of detail, and it isn't all that easy - but it is incredibly fun if you are into this type of GM-ing game. If you don't want to get addicted, stay far, far away. Especially if you have papers or finals to write.

Had to go cold turkey on this game a while back, but I had many a fantastic career with the 01 Leeds team. Harte's free kicks were awesome.....

There are two words for the downfall of Leeds - Peter Risdale. His was a much more crooked reign rather than simply spending tons of money on players. He spent money too, but nothing like what we are seeing nowadays. Made major profits on guys like Keane and Rio.

I HAVE been considering grabbing the handheld version for my iPad despite my horrendous addiction. Anyone played it? I've heard it's just like those games from the glory days from 01-04......
