Preds would love to get Lupul. If we're in the hunt (and Lupul is scoring around the same pace he did last year), I would trade Austin Watson+ for him. Seems like a Burke kind of guy.

Depends on the plus for sure, I like Watson but his upside isn't excitin enough

I mean, he's a near NHL ready 1st round pick that is projected as a #2/3 guy with outstanding defensive skills. I've heard Kesler's name thrown out as a comparable, but that's a bit crazy IMO. Still good return for a rental.

ya I see him being 3rd line shutdown guy that brings everything every night, I personally would want something added but not sure what other Leaf fans would think
Boston gets a suitable replacement for Krejci, letting Bergeron (or Seguin) take over the 1 job. They get massive depth on the wings especially if Horton is re-signed (I didn't look at cap though so maybe it wouldn't work).
Toronto gets not a #1 center but a center that can play top line duty efficiently which IMO is more important. Bozak drops to the third with the kids (Kadri and Frattin) to do sheltered scoring. Peverley plays #2 center with Kulemin and MacArthur who have chemistry.
I dunno, I personally like it but I'm sure fans of both teams will be sending flames my way.

Boston passes. Krejci > Grabo,, and Lupul has very lil value to me until he provides consistency and avoids injury. Peverly is a very versatile player and a key cog on Bruins 3rd line. He plays PK, PP, and plays point on PP. Far too important to give up for an unproven Lupul. Toronto would have to really add here, perhaps Grabo Lupul Gardiner,, even then I'd pass if I were Chia.

Canucks are getting Grabo for Lu, so you won't have him at the deadline.
Assuming both score at above a 50 pt pace, I would say something like a 1st (20-30), an average nhler or two who they would replace (think Dupuis or Bergfors), and a guy like Saad, Holland, Merill, or Howden. I dunno, they'd definitely fetch a good package.

Seriously? I hate Toronto but even I can tell that's a ridiculous overpayment on their part.
I'd go as high as a 1st and a lesser replacement for the season (ie 1st and Raymond). Lupul would be a pure rental for most teams, and Grabovski's contract isn't great for the next 4-5 years unless his play picks up. Then again he's signed, so I might be able to justify a low-to-mid prospect going as well for that.
Toronto should throw everything around and draft Mackinnon and Drouin... There you have it.
