Congrats Peter. Sometimes I wonder what the Flyers would have been like if we had Forsberg instead of Lindros or made the Lindros trade while keeping Forsberg. No guarantee that we'd win any cups but it's still scary to think about.

we probably would of been dominated by lindros if we ever went to the finals

The game of "what if" has trails. What if Quebec hadn't relocated to Colorado. A Patrick Roy trade from Montreal to Quebec would likely have never happened based on the rivalry and geography, perhaps the non-relocated Nordiques don't win a Cup with another goalie and historical analysis replaces maelstrom with something more tepid.

It is an obvious guessing game how Forsberg on the Flyers would have altered history but the Flyers-Montreal blockbuster (LeClair/Desjardins) trade probably isn't made. Even coaches and front office decisions would have varied from what transpired over time. But the absence of the Cup is what tantalizes the thought process.

In a perfect world Forsberg would've stayed healthy and he and Gagne would have teamed up for multiple 50g seasons

sigh

Q: What if the Flyers had drafted Larry Robinson instead of Larry Wright, in '71?
A: Bernie Parent never loses his eye, Leach doesn't win the Smythe in '76, and god knows what happens with potential Stanley Cups.

Q: What if Lindbergh doesn't lose control of his vehicle?
A: Ron Hextall may never score the goals that inspired Brodeur to develop the aspect of his game. Hextall may never have the season he did in '87.

Q: What if Jay Snider hadn't fired Clarke in '90?
A: With the 4th overall pick, Clarke targets one Jaromir Jagr changing the landscape of the Patrick division forever. The Flyers may never trade for Lindros.

Clarke would've probably still picked Ricci with that pick. Or maybe even Hatcher. No way he would've picked Jagr.

Hatcher would not have been a bad pick. Better than Ricci that's for sure. The guy was one of the best defenseman in the clutch and grab era
