Very glad to hear it, but I thought he was supposed to be a playmaker?

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON: Freshman forward Sean Kuraly scored his first career goal Nov. 3 at Ferris State on the power play. After not scoring his first seven games, he then scored for the second time in three games Nov. 10 vs. NMU with both of his goals coming on the power play. Kuraly needs only 99 more goals to catch his father, Rick Kuraly, who is Miami's all-time leading goal scorer with 101 goals from 1979-83 and ranks third in career points (179). Sean is the first son of a former Miami player to suit up for the RedHawks. The younger Kuraly was taken in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks.

Wrenn notches primary assist on OT GWG.

He is but from everything I have heard, his teammates can't finish at all so he is taking it upon himself to start scoring. He was setting them up with tap-ins that they were missing.

I think you're exaggerating a bit, but I'll have to catch more games to see for myself. Too bad they're all so early PT.

I haven't seen anyone call Hertl just a playmaker. Obviously his puck posession and playmaking skills stand out but from what I've seen of him as well as heard, he has a good accurate shot and he's a capable goal scorer.

Obviously he's not a pure playmaker, but 10 goals and 5 assists is a very strange line.

try this for highlights

time 1:15 (assist on 2nd goal) is my favourite moment ... he's like bulldog when he's fighting for the puck

It's not that strange to me when you take into consideration that, as someone mentioned earlier, his linemates have had a hard time finishing so far this season.

Great stuff. Every time I watch him, his elite puck protection and strength stands out. Good thing he's already playing in a man's league, I shudder to think what might happen in the CHL.

I guess. It's worth keeping an eye on anyway.

Defenceman Konrad Abeltshauser will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a broken bone in his wrist. Big loss, but chance 4 someone to step up.

Awesome.

He's already 10+8 after 2 more games and leading scorer on his team, below-average team in that league IMO. Great job.

Yeah, I watched today's (or yesterday's your time?) game. Also, Hertl is technically leading the team in points since Cervenka and Sobotka haven't played all the games.

Lets say we went back to the Winnik trade and the trade still happened, would you guys rather have given up Hamilton instead of Sgarbossa?

Still early to tell since both are only 20 yrs old, but yeah. At the moment Sgarbossa is leading the Monsters in scoring with 15 pts, while Hamilton only has 6 pts in 16 games. I think plenty of people here would not have done that trade period.

I wouldn't at the time of the trade, not sure I'd rather they trade Hamilton now either.

The Pirate was my favorite prospect, so yeah, I would've rather traded Hamilton even if he's better or has higher potential.

Nieto is off the schneid! He scored the 4th goal of the game in a 4-0 BU win over St. Lawrence, and his goal got everyone in attendance free chicken! The goal was a beautiful snipe from the behind the circle on the rush. Biggest reason for the line regaining form seems to be the Terriers swapped out Gill and went with Rodrigues who usually plays on the 3rd line and is the sorta scrappy dig the puck out kinda player who is all hustle. The addition of his game really complimented Nieto and O'Regan and allowed them to focus on scoring. Nieto and O'Regan both showed off some fancy skating moves, BU has a tendency to let Nieto with his speed QB the puck into the zone, this led to a lot of good passing plays between the two Sharks prospects.

FREE CHICKEN!

Would you say another reason for the line regaining form is the development of O'Regan? I've been trying to keep tabs on both him and Nieto (two of 5 that are really tough for me to follow) and while I think Nieto is typically seen as the marquee Sharks prospect for the event, it hasn't always been the case. O'Regan looks somehow better (edit: than himself, not Nieto) every night. In fact, I think Megan's seniority is actually holding the kid back a bit and next year I think he could really break out. I still think Nieto is the better NHL prospect because of the size, but O'Regan is going to do some magical things in BU.
