Gonna say Alexandre burrows for the Canucks

Guy has averaged 28+ goals and 50+ points for the last 4 years with almost zero PP time and hes been a pretty clutch player also

Hes also one of Vancouvers better PK'ers

Anderson screwed us by playing so well when got traded to Ottawa... and kept going strong the following season. he changed the team. (i know ****** coach that year.)
the lack of mentions in this forum and everyone (Sens) looking at the Lehner hype makes me believe Andy is our most underrated player.

(Karlsson for obvious reasons is both overrated and underrated.)

Judging by the defensemen threads, lately, Kris Letang has become grossly underrated.

Frans Nielsen. Very good defensively, great skater, amazing in the shootout and after he inked his latest contract he stepped it up offensively.

Stralman - people still think he's a number 6/7 at best, but last year he was very useful as a #5, sometimes solidly handling top-4 minutes.
HM to Staal who seems to have lost his "elite defensively" label and is going to earn it back as soon as the NHL starts...
And to Boyle, face it, he's a 3rd liner .

EDIT - for my 2nd favourite team, the 'Yotes, I'd pick Vrbata. Silently scoring a ton of goals every season.

Paul Martin. He certainly hasn't lived up to his contract so far, but comparing him to Redden and Gomez is ridiculous.

Honorable mention to Chris Kunitz. Maybe not so much anymore, but going into last season people questioned if he was legitimate top 6 winger. He's been a solid one on two different Cup winning teams.

Hall for sure. I always laugh at some of the comments made about him by other fanbases.

Probably Trevor Daley. I never see anyone talk about him. He's quite good though... shutdown guy with leadership abilities who can chip in on offense.

Leafs

Kessel: Get's too much hate.

Phaneuf: Ever since he's joined the Leafs he's viewed as trash.

Yup to both. For a top 5 goal scorer in the league Kessel gets way too much hate and Phaneuf is somehow not seen as a top 30 defenceman by some people.

It's more of that Phaneuf was traded for trash (compared to what he can be on his best days), which lowered his perceived value. It's also very easy to beat up on Toronto's players due to their lack of success in recent years.

Chris Kunitz overall...absolutely nobody talks about him.

On the 'so bad they're now underrated' side of things...Martin isn't as bad as this board makes him seem and Fleury's good moments are every bit as good as his bad ones are bad. According to this board Martin is every bit as awful as Redden or Komisarek and that just isn't true. Fleury is inconsistent, not consistently awful.

Deryk Engelland, he plays a great physical shut-down game. He'll stick up for his teammates too.

Probably Kyle Turris. Most fans of other teams don't seem to know how good he was for us after we got him from Phoenix. Theirs a reason our record got better after we got him. He's a fantastic 3 zone player.

Oh yeah, I'm not a Stars fan, but I'll go ahead and say Loui Eriksson. Seriously, I forget he's even in the NHL, you rarely hear about him. Solid 70-point guy.

Definitely Brian Elliot. For some reason people here like to ignore any recent success.
