The Falcons took 4 of 6 points this week. Unfortunately Andrew Joudrey is out indefinitely with a hand injury, Will Weber was injured in Norfolk. Waiting on any info on how bad the injury is. Dainton and McElhinney played well in goal. One more game Friday on the road and the Falcons are home for two.

As for Madaisky and the injury. He played well in camp, so I give a ton of credit for playing through the injury. If surgery helps his career, then it's the best choice, even if he misses 3 months. About the ECHL v.s. Kamloops discussion. It's over, who really cares at this point? Maybe we can keep the discussion on the actual topic of the Falcons and IceMen. Not bitterness over a decision. Just a thought.

Who slots in at center then?

Sean Collins is listed as a Center, also Craig has played both wing and center.

Depends on how Larsen wants to adjust. If Chaput has been playing well he could move up to pivot the third but Collins, Hansen, and Craig have been on the ice together. So I suspect the pieces are there just a matter of who works best with whom.

Let's hope that this is about as far as the injury bug goes.

Any word on Weber?

I am going to the Icemen v. Nailers game on Wednesday in Wheeling. Give me some names of guys I should pay attention to. (This is much easier than doing the research myself)

Just looking at the stats I see that Johansen isn't dominating like some of the other first round picks this season such as RNH, Eberle, Neiderreiter (particularly since they broke up the Jam-Johan-Cam line). Is Johansen being asked to play more of a two way role, is he struggling to find chemistry with his new linemates, or is there another reasons he hasn't been putting up points?

He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets. That should explain everything.

If it's actual Jackets prospects you're looking for, then I believe Anton Blomquist and Trent Vogelhuber are the only remaining guys down there. As for the other guys, there are certainly some talented journeymen there, but not much in the way of actual potential. A guy like Dan Gender had huge potential just a few years ago, but the pro game has proved to be too physical on him. Todd Robinson is one of the top playmakers in the ECHL, but is nearing 34 years old.

Some other guys have spent time with Evansville (Madaisky, Regner, Weber, Gabriel), but have moved on to other options. There were some legitimate NHL prospects down there for a bit also, though they weren't Jackets property (Brett Sonne, Tyler Shattock, Cody Beach, Anthony Nigro) ... really, with the lockout, guys are moving around in droves ... this would be the biggest issue with ECHL hockey.

Johansen gets coverage by opponents a lot more than other players. That is part of the lack of points. Also, I hate to say it, but I don't notice Johansen much. I expected more and know he can play better. Not sure if he expected in the AHL to be easier or what is going on. They broke up the line because the team needs to spread the scoring around. Plus 2 small players and one big who is not going to stay in the crease and do the dirty work does not work.

A lot of people said the same thing about him in junior, but he's not the kind of player that has to be "in the mix" for things to happen ... he's good at disappearing and then being in the right place at the right time. He's only going to get better, IMO.

Sounds a little bit like Crosby honestly. I can remember numerous times watching penguins games where sid suddenly just appeared in the crease to jam in the puck.

More Joe Thornton-esque ... he doesn't look like he's doing much, but at the end of the game, you're looking at the scorecard and he has 3-4 points.

2-0. JAM with an absolute blistering one timer on the PP. Drazenovic and RyJo with assists.

Calvert hits the bar seconds after the faceoff after the goal

Atkinson makes it 4-1 really early in a power play. Assists to Savard and Calvert.

Make it 4-4. Looks like the Falcons have fallen apart and McIlhenny is off his hot streak.
