Smith-Pelly made that goal happen, even though he screwed it up. I love the instinct to crash the net.

Yep, good play by DSP. Much needed goal.

Turrible period, but the game is within reach. Looking at the boxscore you could maybe call it a bend-but-don't-break kind of period. Actually watching told a different story, but at least its something the team can build on.

I'm bored and procrastinating and doing a bunch of Sporcle quizzes. I forget Penner EVERY TIME.

Fair enough. Rinaldo and Vatanen, though? Let's not go there. Good on DSP to step in there.

Etem is having a pretty good game. I hope he can get on the sheet. He deserves it.

He's definitely more of a factor than he was earlier in the year.

Kind of depressing that this period is our only glimpse at what this team could be.

Lindholm is getting a lot of ice time this period. He really should be ahead of Sami at this point.

Well, they put up a good fight. That's inspiring. We also found a great way to make up for our goaltending: always possess the puck.

Did Holland match up against Schenn at all?

Maybe they can carry some of this momentum over.

He may have. I didn't notice Brayden that much. I think he saw more time against Couturier, but I may be wrong.

Here's hoping. The good news is our next game is against The Whale. We manhandled them in our last meeting.

Holland's goal ties him for third in the AHL.
