EA Simulation. The way Backstrom is playing I could see him leading the NHL if the season were playing, but a lot more goals.

It seems to me like OV and Bäckis is starting to dominate in the KHL hopfully they can do the same when the NHL starts again.

Yeah, lets replace Brouwer with Denis Tolpeko.

Based on what I've seen Backstrom is simply dominant, while Ovi is kind of disappointing.

It seems a lot like last October-January 3, when Backstrom was playing superbly, but Ovechkin was less than impressive.

What do you mean?
Ovechkins been fine, he just isn't shooting as much as you would expect.

Dynamos coach is a lot like Hunter, very untrusting of Ovi being unleashed.

Ovi has already shown he can shoot the puck a lot in the KHL like he used to in the NHL, just randomly stopped.

I think OV have done well he is still over a PPG and has 9goals while for exampel Malkin only has 10goals in 4games more played . I dont expect OV to be 2 ppg so in my book he is still doing very well and his team is also leading the KHL.

I care too, keep posting!

BTW it feels like an end of an era for me. I started college during the second year of the Ovechkin era and remember all the crazy times we had as a team/fanbase. Now with Semin leaving it feels different. The positive news is we have an awesome young d pairing and it looks like Backstrom is the real deal. I hope OV can get back on track.

Ovechkin's production also took damage when he was playing on Dynamo's 2nd line even before Backstrom arrival, while Geno's playing with the KHL leading scorer.
But still I expected more of AO as well - more energy, more agression, idk. However, we should remember he's a player born for the small ice.

I'm gonna go to Dynamo's next game tomorrow. Will post my thoughts after. Was at one game so far, where Ovi didn't play because of illness. Backstrom (it was one of his first games) left a good impression, but it looked like his teammates didn't trust him enough yet.

He also had acute bronchitis, which most likely was caused by having it and still playing.

So his conditioning no doubt has taken a hit from that.

If you watch Malkin, he disappears and then gets points thanks to Mozyakin.

Kinda interesting though that they put Komarov on the top line even though Tolpeko was doing great with Ovi and Backstrom.

I think that after playing with Gynge Tolpeko was kind of a 'test' power forward for Ovi and Nick to see how are they gonna do with this type of player.
