whats great bout him?
He has the AL East pedigree (Bench coach for Francona in Boston, 3rd base coach for Showalter in Baltimore), can work with the infield positions and outfield positions, and has received high praise everywhere he went which is why he's considered a managerial prospect.

A lot of people thought if Farrell wasn't released by the Jays that Hale would have been hired by the Red Sox. Very knowledgeable guy and he has ties with Boston... Front office loved him. He was their Bench coach in 09. It's to bad Francona signed so early with Cleveland, I bet he would seriously consider us after Farrell left and saw how much this organization wants to win. Francona and Hale would be great leadership at the top. Not saying Gibbons isn't good but I would prefer Francona.

Let me get this straight: so far this off-season, Anthopolous has:

- received a useful utility player in return for a moderate-to-poor manager (Boston),
- poached a top-end managerial candidate to be our bench boss (Baltimore), and
- helped destroy a rival's chances of ever getting a new ballpark (Tampa).

Is that right? And all this havoc just within our division? Guess he'll have to pee in the Yankees' corn flakes next, to make it a clean sweep.

You guys think Hale will be the next manager after Gibbons?
Sorta like how Boston had Francona but was grooming Farrell to be the next manager.

If Gibby falters then Hale is a pretty damn good option as an interim manager.

Well put.

Add in:
-Pissed off the commissioner
-Introduced Blue Jay swagger to the majors inviting everyone to hate the Jays and their fans

Well Gibby has two years + option, while D has a 3 year contract as the bench coach, so if Gibbons has low to moderate success they could just decline the option and go with Hale for a year and see if he's good at managing the team.

Now we just need to kick Murphy to the curb and make Mottola the hitting coach and we have the perfect off-season.

I don't think many Florida business owners/investors *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* would be willing to shed some cash for a new Stadium.

First of all, he's out of options, so if the Jays retain him, he'll be in the bigs. And second of all, if he cleared waivers (which he wouldnt) he'd be in AAA not AA

What are the chances Paul Molitor gets into coaching?

Well I believe he was a bench coach for Tom Kelly, so...

Not certain if he'd join the Jays though, but it could be a possibility.

I've already challenged that and he still has yet to attempt to defend it.
