I watched the game and to me it looked like Barkov took a quick look over his shoulder before spinning around and passing. Still you obviously need some luck too when passing like that.
Meh, I think your reading to much into it. If anything he saw the three guys right on top of him and figured there was probably some one towards the net and just threw it out there in front of(or he may have even been trying to put it on net for a rebound). Lucky play, but sure looked sweet.

Like l already said, there was definitely luck involved in the play, but I just don't think it was pure luck (The color guy Jukka Koivu didn't think so either). You don't see every player doing plays like that.
The play was combination of his vision, luck, passing skill and strength. Able to pass that accurate pass when someone is at your skin without even watching at the goal more than once is impressive. He did more impressive pass before this season which was an nolook spin pass to the backdoor but nieminen didn't score because he never expected pass like that. It wasn't lucky it seemed that Barkov had eyes on his back. Like in this play too but that backhand pass earlier was more impressive than this one which was amazing aswell.
looked like he had a lot of luck there... but guess what? I love it because Barkov seems like he COULD be the player Finland has been missing... I've had enough of Finland shooting the puck 50 times into the goalies chest plate, not only do you need skill but sometimes a lucky play changes the game..
There is good sample of his very good skating, insane strength for 17 year old and great defensive game. Talks about his skating being one of his flaws can end it seems that it could become one of his main assets in near future.
There's 3 team I don't want Barkov going and they are Edmonton,Columbus and Toronto. I would love Barkov to be drafted by either Winnipeg or Islander or even montreal. Imagine Galy and Barkov together or even Tavares and Barkov.

Is that a personal bias or is based on not wanting him to be smothered? While the Oilers acquiring another top 5 player would be a little unfair, I think he'd fit in great with the Oilers. Fans always talk of moving Gagner and getting a big, defensively responsible center and with Barkov they get that. They could turn around and turn Gagner+Nick Schultz/Whitney into a better defenseman or simply run three scoring lines.
