AV is forced to live with his parents because of it.

He's finally out on his own again, and no, not because he scraped the cash together after getting lucky at bingo. The renovations on his own home are complete.

"I had everything planned for when I was going to be in Vancouver during the regular season," he said. "But because of the lockout, I got caught at home when the work started in October. I was re-doing the first floor and upstairs and there was no water in the house, so I had to move back with mom and dad for a couple of weeks.
He's not hurting that badly yet.

When this is what suffices as hockey news, it's time to end the strike.

Coaches like AV have probably raked in $10M + in earnings, he isn't broke or anything. Problem for them is that it's pretty much impossible to find work in the middle of a season... but I guess it's a good excuse to live with the old men.

I hear McDonalds is hiring.

I just hope that he doesn't become manager, because all the young, inexperienced workers will get no shifts while the older guys get all the hours.

Head coaches don't need to find work during a lockout because they're all still being paid. Some minor positions or consultants might get cut (maybe a skills coach or a skating coach or something like that), but any other coach or manager with a contract in place is being paid in full regardless of whether there's hockey.
