lol turned it on time to hear Taormina getting interviewed. I wonder if he'll get a chance with the Lightning, since their defense was so bad?

Maybe I'll actually watch a little of this and listen to a little of the charity game, it'll almost feel like a hockey night again

Albany makes me miss the NHL more than I should. I hate having to cheer for a ****** team that absolutely sucks. It reminds me of 10/11 more than anything else haha.

Hey how do you listen to the charity game? What site will it be broadcasted on?

Burlon has been brutal tonight. Just absolutely brutal. Botched a 4 on 2 by shooting way wide, and takes a stupid penalty which causes Albany to go down 3-1. And course stupid ass coach Kowalsky puts him right back on the ice on the next shift after the goal too.

Larsson's wind up for the slapshot is so short, looks kinda weird.

Everything is weak by this team tonight. If they tie it up they're only gonna lose in the shootout anyway. If they were able to win shootouts they might be just at or over 500 now.

I noticed that in scouting videos of him even before the draft. I figure it's a stylistic thing, he still gets good power and accuracy on it, and the windup takes less time, so for me, the way he does it is fine.

They take too many penalties. The PK isn't as bad as it was early in the season, but they need to stop taking so many penalties. The one Burlon took was not good.

That second goal you could see it coming after all the good chances they gave up. I can't say I was paying 100% attention to the second period, did do a fist pump at the nice breakaway goal though.

Burlon botched that really good chance, and takes a really dumb penalty afterwards. This really is a poor mans alternative to the NHL! I can't even get into KHL really either.

He's done it for a while now yeah, saw a lot of it when he played for SAIK in the SEL so pretty sure it's just his style. Just thinking for myself if the short windup affects the power in his shots or not, cause when he does have time he still uses a a short windup. As you said though, it takes less time and that's a good thing.

Well at least with Albany wins and losses aren't the main thing, you just hope you see some things from the guys you expect to be with the Devils when this is all done with. Albany/Lowell's been crap for years, no reason to expect it to change now.

I do think Lou's given unneccesarily short shrift to having good minor league teams, learning how to win is a part of development. It's no accident the Devils' good teams were supplemented by a lot of River Rats in the mid-late '90's when they were good.

I'd think having a winning team would be to the benefit of the development of prospects. Get used to winning/winning mentality, play the game it's supposed to be played. What I'm seeing out there right now is a team without direction and is all over the place, doesn't really help development. Winning, points, better confidence, better psychologically and mentally prepared prospects is important as well. One leads to the other.

I wonder what it would take for Lou to consider making a change at that level.

LOL Last time this team was over 500, and made the playoffs Maclean was the coach. 3 years ago in Lowell. With less talent too. That last goal Kinkaid allowed was horrible, and mind numbingly soft. Can't blame him when the team can't score more thsn one goal. They would have lost in the shootout anyway.

19 shots, 5 in the 3rd when your chasing, that's weak.

Taormina is doing well on the Lightning's AHL team, 2nd in both D pts and D +/-. My guess is he will be the first call up if a Lightning puck mover (Hedman, Carle, Bergeron) gets injured. Bergeron is UFA after this season, so Taormina might take his spot then.
