But the Ads came out hitting after that goal. It's at least encouraging they didn't completely fold after that series of abysmal shifts.

Pressure from Lindholm and McMillan draws a penalty.

Holland looked like Getzlaf right there. Nice hands.

That was a nice shift by the 1st line.

Ads absolutely dominant since the start of that power play. A huge save by the Whale goalie, a DSP crossbar, and some head-scratching passes by the Ads are the only reasons the game isn't tied.

I see the 'kid line' got on the board. How good was the goal?

He frequently does, right to to the nonchalant-looking skating style. I have pretty high hopes for him.

How has Vatanen looked? The Ads really need all the offense they can get, and he should be a catalyst.

Crash the net and bang in the rebound. Both Wagner and Kurtz outmuscled their guys.

Through the early part of the game, Vatanen wasn't seeing the ice much. Once the power play came and the momentum shifted, it seemed like he never left the ice.

He and Lindholm were great on the power play.

Who was to blame on the second goal?

Ditto. I think he should transition well. I just hope he keeps shooting the puck, not just for the goals, but because it should aid his passing game too. I really believe Getzlaf would open up lanes if he shot the puck more. The opposing teams would be stupid to not recognize that 95% of the time he's going to pass, and play him accordingly. If he made himself more dangerous with a shot, I think the opposing team would have to respect that shot a bit more.

Wagner:

I hope he plays as annoying as he looks. Man that's a weasel-y face.

I'm sure that he's a handful during homeroom.

The second goal came at the end of an endless sequence in the Ads zone. Pretty much everyone was out of position. Kolarik had a pretty easy tap-in of a rebound. I don't remember if he was Smaby's or Schaus' guy.

Jesus. The announcer calls the faceoff circles "rings". This whole time I thought there was a Whale player named Ring.

Oh come on. That on was on Andersen.

That's miserable. I feel badly for them. Aside from that long stretch leading to the second Whale goal, they've played well tonight.

That goal song is effing stupid.
