boston...

Lucic Spooner Seguin
Khokhlachev Krejci XXX
Marchand Bergeron Knight
Camara Griffith Caron

Hamilton XXX
McQuaid Krug
Chara O'Gara

Rask
Subban

I'd prefer Seguin in the middle, but the organizational depth at RW is a pile of 3rd and 4th liners. Someone is going to overpay for Boychuk, so he will be gone. This is Horton's last year in Boston. Peverley/Kelly and the 4th line all gone by then. I know goalies are a crapshoot, but I think Subban is challenging Rask for the starting job by then. Chara has taken on the 40 year old Chelios role playing bottom 2 minutes even strength, but is active on special teams.

I don't think guys like Nemiez, Ferland, Granlund will work out... (still early. things could change)

I do think Gillies will be a good starting goaltender in the NHL. He will need to finish his 4yr stint with Providence, and get some action in the AHL.

A top 10 pick would help this franchise out so much. We could address one of many weaknesses... Top RW, Top D, #1 C. I catch myself daydreaming about potentially landing one of MacKinnon, Jones, Drouin, Monohan, Lindholm, Barkov, Erne, Pulock, etc...

So hard to say because this team clearly still needs to add talent. I'd say they need a few more solid draft pieces and maybe two good UFA signings. The good news is the blueline is healthily shored up. That being said here's what I'd imagine they could go with in five years:

Winnipeg Jets:
Evander Kane - Mark Scheifele - Blake Wheeler
Andrew Ladd - Alexander Burmistrov - Bryan Little
Ivan Telegin - Eric O'Dell - Scott Kosmachuk
Adam Lowry - Lukas Sutter - Spencer Machacek

Tobias Enstrom - Zach Bogosian
Zach Yuen - Jacob Trouba
Zach Redmond - Dustin Byfuglien

Ondrej Pavelec
Eddie Pasquale

Hartikainen - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle
Hall - Getzlaf (X) - Yakupov
Paajarvi - Lander - Pitlick
Jones - Horcoff - Reider

Smid - Schultz
Klefbom - Petry
Musil - Marincin

Bunz
Dubnyk

X (The 2C position) can be filled by any big, strong second line center. I chose Getzlaf cause it'd be sick for him to come here next summer. Honestly, very happy with that d-core. Maybe no true #1, but strong 1 through 6.

Do you think Ennis will be a better 2c then Girgensons is projected to be. Seems like Girgensons upside is an ideal #2 center: good offensive, really good defensively. Seems like Ennis would be a good winger for grigs.

I just like the idea of having a grit/energy guy (with enough skill to keep up offensively, of course) + a playmaker + a shooter on the scoring lines. Those lines are pretty balanced.

ETA: Also, keep in mind that Ruff uses lines 1-3 pretty evenly, so the numbers don't really mean anything. Grigorenko under Ruff probably won't ever get more ES ice time than an average 3rd liner.

I dont really agree with this. 100% locks are very hard to come by, some would argue that there is no such thing and those two would definitely not fall under that category
