You know, this loss is disappointing, but you know what, let them be losers, let them suck, give us a better draft position, we need players. Trade Wallace and Mendenhall for picks next year. Roll with Brown, Sanders, Cotchery and maybe Plaxico at WR, and Dwyer, Redman, Rainey and someone else at RB.
We need so many players to be competitive again, that would be the best option. Good draft position and trade some players for picks.

We are two players away from being competitive again: Ben Roethlesberger and Antonio Brown.

No, it makes us better, but to compete for a championship? We need more than those 2. Let's face it, how much do guys like Keisel, Harrison, Polamalu, Clark, Taylor, etc. have left in the tank? We have good defensive linemen who can replace Keisel, but we need a linebacker, a couple safeties and a corner to be competitive because we won't have those guys play a full season again and their current back ups can't get the job done.
We need to re-tool this damn team, because not just today, but losing to teams like Oakland, Tennessee, and Cleveland, that is very, VERY pathetic.

long term, ya we need replacements. But for this season, put Ben and Brown back in the line-up with the defense playing like they have the last few games and we can play with any team in the league. Just having Ben the last two games would have made those pretty easy wins; putting us in a good position to take the division.

I agree, but now without them, and not knowing when they're coming back, this season is over, they are going to lose against Baltimore next week and that can put them at 10-6 at best if they win the rest of their games. But can they beat the Browns, Bengals and Cowboys. Looks like a 6-10 or 7-9 season to me.

Will people please stop saying we need to trade free agents for draft picks...it doesn't work that way.
Thank you.
ESPN is saying Big Ben could be back against the Ravens, the AFC is weak, wouldn't be surprised to see a 9-7 team get into the wildcard spot. For those suggesting the year is over after this loss, please take a deep breath. This loss sucks, but it certainly isn't the nail in the coffin.
I could absolutely see Pittsburgh going 9-7 and getting steamrolled by Denver in the Wild Card while getting the 23rd-ish pick in the draft.
If that doesn't happen, the other scenario would be that Roethlisberger plays against Baltimore next week, he'll probably have a disappointing performance like he did against SF last year. If he gets hurt in that game, Pittsburgh could blow the next four and go 7-9, and possibly pick up Te'o and others with a high slot in the draft.
Friggin' Baltimore....come back from 10 down to tie the game....and converted a 4th and 29 on their last drive to set-up the tying FG. They have had a horseshoe up their ass all season.

Yeah, no NFL player is worth anything in the way of draft picks, really...unless they are an established QB or something, which really makes very little sense. ****...Holmes won a SB MVP and got a 5th round pick (albeit that pick is now better than Holmes himself). Vontae Davis, a year after being drafted in the top of the 1st round, fetched a 2nd rounder.
I think we may be able to get something for Wallace, but everything would have to work out perfectly. He'd have to be non-exclusive franchised, and some team would really have to love him AND would want to pay him what he's looking for. Odds of both of those things happening...damn near nil.
If we were looking to trade Hood...5-7th rounder at most. He's worth more to us in that case.

these are obviously the only two possible scenarios.
Just one of those nightmare games where everything that can go wrong does.
It's pretty clear how much Ben carries this team these days and how they should be thanking God they didn't trade him and he got his act together after all his off-field drama a couple years back.
I thought the D played well. Browns could have scored way more points off of 7 or 8 turnovers but the D held up for the most part. Harrison in particular looks to be finding his game a bit. Of course as soon as he does Woodley gets hurt but Worilds looked surprisingly solid today.
Charlie Batch needs to go at the end of the year. He's 37 and clearly has no game at this point. He's just not a competent backup anymore.
No need to scoreboard watch the Ravens either. Steelers and no other AFC North team are going to catch them at this point.
No matter what we do from here on out...Te'o will be gone well before we pick. If he gets out of the first 5-7 picks, I'll be shocked. He's put together a season for the ages, and his stock only gets boosted more with ND playing the way they are, as he is the leader there.

Other than the INT's, his season hasn't been that impressive. Statistically speaking.

Steelers are still a better team than at least 75% of the league... assuming Ben is healthy. He makes the offense him, and himself alone. Most teams would kill to have a D like ours. This team can still easily make the playoffs as long as Ben comes back ASAP.
Ben injured and 8 turnovers against a crappy team are an anomaly and do not represent this team as a whole.
