I can't be the only one who finds it hilarious that Don considers himself "lower echelon" with the ushers and concession guy.
until Don was hired as head coach for the Boston Bruins in 72(1st time he made real money in hockey) Cherry was flogging used Cadillacs(and not very well) and digging ditches and setting concrete forms as a casual labourer.
When Grapes first opened his Grapevine in Hamilton in the old Town Casino in @1978 he was in there most days for lunch. I got to know Don over a number of years and the guy is genuine it's no act. Money only changes your circumstances, who you are is who you are.
Grapes is right about the players, they need to smarten up. The game needs to be on the ice and not in the boardroom.
