This is great. You can tell he's taking over a terrible team because his only goal is "To be a team that gives 100%"
Imagine the laughter if he said "I think this team is going to win multiple Stanley Cups."
Other teams have GMs. We have a Godfather.
before i edited i thought of that 100% quote and how that was the measure of success for the team..... a few years later nothing but the cup was the goal and that goal is still there to this day.
*see burke's "5 year plan"............ that said, it took lou around 8 years to win a cup........sorry leafs fans.......not happening in the next 3 years*

ILWT ranked Henrique over Larsson in their top 25 under 25 rankings. What's even more shocking/amazing to me is that one person ranked Larsson number four, behind Josefson, Henrique, and Urbom.
Wow. Someone had them ranked Henrique, Josefson, Urbom, and then Larsson, is he out of his ****ing mind?
To me, it's CLEARLY Larsson-Henrique-Josefson, after that it depends on whether you value NHL experience or being close to NHL ready as well as many other things.
EDIT: They say it's not necessarily a prospect list, and therefore how they are right now definitely plays a role into it. Larsson's upside is a factor but it's not solely on upside. How that guy ranked Urbom ahead of Larsson though is absolutely beyond me.
LOL Urbom over Larsson? GTFO! This clearly has to be judged on his late season/playoff benching.
I would rank Henrique over Josefson right now, but a lot of people have said they expect Josefson to top out over Henrique eventually. They could be right. Josefson is clearly outplaying Henrique in the AHL right now, and I'm pretty sure leads Albany in goals, and points. He's just gotten injured, and had some setbacks at the NHL level. Nothing impressive at all offensively last season, but at some points he's been our best defensive forward on the NHL team.
I loved that game in 08. We were winning 5-1 I think, and the Rangers tied it(Clemmensen's BRUTAL goaltending) I was surprised Renney didn't pull Lundqvist in the 2nd period. Right after they tied it I believe Patty scored seconds later on the very next shift, and we took over again from there.
I really can't stop raving about Josefson's defense. He may fit in well as Patty's center on a shutdown/2nd line for scoring as I've said before. I think the only even strength goal he was on the ice for in the playoffs was that BS goal that should have been whistled down in game 3 vs LA.
I think he was a minus in two games in the regular season, and one was a game against the Rangers where a goal was scored a few seconds after his penalty expired.

It's one of my favorite Devils games of all time. I was marking out like a 5 year old all game long.

i first read that as ''Making out like a 5 year old''
That team was so strong we had that year. That's why Marty being out was a non factor. That team scored I think 40 more goals than the two seasons prior. That's like a half a goal more per game which is more than it sounds.
Still can't believe Renney didn't pull Lundqvist even though we scored 5 goals halfway through the game. I don't remember him being particularly bad that game, but it's still strange that Renney left him in.
That's my favorite regular season game all time. It was just flat out crazy. 13 goals I remember Elias goal the most, crowd went completely nuts.
That was an insane game, I was sorry I missed it live, but I have since seen it in its entirety. When I checked the score later, I was shocked, I thought it must be a typo. No way we scored 8 goals against Lundqvist!
As bad of luck against Lundqvist as we've had we have had some significant victories over him starting with that game. Not constant ones though, but a few.
Scored 8 goals on him that game. Got him pulled in 09/10, and 10/11, and Marty got his first shutout of the season against him this year(Controversial!) and we beat him in the ECF. Clemmy, and Hedberg also got shutouts against him too for us. And for all the ''Henrik owns Marty'' talk. While Lundqvist's regular season record vs Marty heavily favors him, Marty is 8-6 against Lundqvist in the playoffs, and has the better save percentage, and GAA. Lundqvist leads Marty 2-1 in playoff shutouts against each other though.
Salvador has the third most points by a defense-men in a playoff season in Devils history with his 14 this past year (Nieds had 18 in 03, Rafalski had 18 in 01, and Kurvers had 15 in 88)

What a freakish anomaly.
Definitely worse than Clarkie`s 30-goal regular season.

That's unexpected. I would have guessed that the top 3 spots were all Niedermayer. I guess the passage of time fools my memory.
Yeah and the best part is it doesn't look like any of them are going to re-sign. Going to make for some interesting topics in the CBA. Maybe give teams an extra week or two to re-sign players if this thing drags on into the offseason.
I think if our D men can double or even just increase it's goal scoring by 50% of last year's regular season scoring, we can gain a lot. If we could get 30 goals from D men next year, that's 14 more than last year, and could replace half of Parise's goal scoring almost. Not expecting Salvador to score at his rate from the playoffs, but a handful of goals from each defenseman could go a long way. I think Larsson can do it, and Greene definitely.
This is based off an 82 game season though(Which there won't be) but like Fehr, and the PA on their proposals I'm working off mine as an 82 game season!
No way Perry comes to NJ. He's out of our price range, especially with our money problems.
We probably do have money issues but on the other hand, we threw a pretty solid offer Parise's way a couple of months ago... so one would imagine we aren't that broke.
Since we didn't sign anyone of importance this summer and lost Parise's salary at the same time, we might have a shot. We probably wouldn't be the front runners, but stranger things have happend in the past.
