A team of non-playoff players

How far would a team of players who total 0 playoff games in their careers go? Playoff contender? Cup contender?

Right now my lineup is:

Benn - Tavares - Eberle
Moulson - Hall - Landeskog
Skinner - RNH - Clutterbuck
Kulemin - Little - E. Kane

Bouwmeester - Bogosian
Enstrom - E. Johnson
Gunnarson - Smid

Pavelec
Riemer

*Tried to use players with NHL experience, hence the omission of Yakupov

That's a very good team, but unfair to say if they'd be a contender since it's probably over the cap

Not a sustainable roster by any means.

Fine. Let's say that this roster was intact for one season, injury-free. How far can they go in the postseason?

I'm thinking this team loses in the conference finals.

This team, even with average goaltending, would dominate. The forwards are just too good.

Petry is better than Smid, is a natural RHD and is actually cheaper for the next two years.

Goaltending would be the weakness but with a little luck they'd be solid contenders for the cup.

Pavelec is so under rated, he's solid, goal tending is not an issue.

That's a beast team that could dominate any club in a 7 game series.

Look at that C depth. You have a high end 1st line C on all three scoring lines. With 5 first line wingers.

imo you should Drop Moulson for someone with more grit, and same goes for Little. But a beast team.

Maybe a guy like Justin Faulk instead of Gunnarsson on D?

Solid team nonetheless.

That's one hell of a team. I don't know how far they'd go, but they would put up a crapload of goals. They'd be quite fast too. It would really come down to the opponents.

A solid team like LA would shut them down easily.

That would be one hell of a team IMO. Lots of leadership and young guys that are very hungry to win it all. The leadership on that club with Landeskog and Hall would be through the roof.

Judging by his name I assume OP's lack of Ducks is deliberate?

Really great team there, especially those top 6 forwards (Hall, Tavares and Eberle would be a sick 1st line).

Seeing how teams without a goalie did last playoffs, I say first round exit.

Then make a "sustainable" roster, geez. The older a player gets the more likely he'll have made the playoffs at least once so obviously the team would be largely made of young guns.

Fair enough then. That's definitely a playoff team that gets past the first round. They'd score a ton of goals but apart from Landeskog you don't have good defensive forwards

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have Jamie Benn and Jeff Skinner on the third line than some good defensive forwards. Benn is a great two-way forward, and so is Kulemin. That team is stacked, they would definitely be contenders.

Part Leaf? There's 3 leafs with 1 being the backup goalie, compared to 5 Jets.
