DALLAS -- The media went fishing for more trash talk about the Los Angeles Lakers, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban didn't bite before Saturday night's game.
He did, however, return a little fire at the Lakers' fan base.
Cuban
"I've said enough about the Lakers," Cuban said with a grin while working out on an elliptical machine. "Let's just say that when you say something bad about the Lakers, you get a ton of Twitter threats, so it's just not worth it. There is just more Twitter courage in Southern California than probably any other part of the world."
Later, Cuban added: "I'm not suggesting it's all Lakers fans. It's just most."
Best Cubes interview ever. Skip Bayless is the biggest blowhard in sports media, and he got called the **** out.
Bleh, Mark Cuban was bragging about the access to all the advanced statistics he gets. I don't want to debate basketball using advanced metrics only the top level guys have access to. Skip and SAS were right that they don't have the same access to that info he does.
"What switches and pick and roll coverage were they running?" Let's talk basketball Mark, not coach speak. And Skip was right, Lebron lost that finals more than the Mavs won it. It was a historic collapse by him (which he made up for this year).
Mavericks always have a great regular season, other than that one great year almost always choke in the playoffs, a lot of the time they are on the receiving end of highlight reel plays and are absolutely miserable at drafting. What he has done with the franchise since he became owner is nothing short of amazing being that they were awful before but one would think he has won multiple championships and been to the western finals a slew of times with the way he talks. I don't like him at all but that's just me.

Nope, I don't like him either. Seems like the type of owner that tries to be best friends with his players, and is way too involved.
I wonder if it feels weird for a proud Brooklynite in Spike Lee to root against a Brooklyn team. He'd be a Nets fan if the Nets were there from the get go.

A few years ago Dirk and a few other Mavs noted they liked it better when Mark was quiet as opposed to his always on the sideline.
I hope so. It's fun to watch these teams be relevant again. I became a Nets fan in '01, so I was around for the Finals appearances and for the 12-70 ****.
