Warning: Spoilers abound.
Spoil:
Rev, if you click on the Cracked link, I'll assume you did so because you're intelligent to notice that Rick and Shane spend the entire 2nd season gearing up for a winner-take-all showdown to determine who's the Alpha Male and which one gets top billing on the show, and also that gentle, rolling fields of grass don't make the best zombie deterrent.

Okay, the above's probably not all that spoiler-tag relevant, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

And the 3rd season kicks all kinds of ass over the 2nd. Slogging through the 2nd season is worth it just to know who the characters are in the 3rd. There are actually zombies in the 3rd season! Yeah! The show called The Walking Dead actually has walking dead in it now! No more 50 minutes of yard work and awkward conversations, there's actual zombie splatter. Yay! Apparently, all the writers were fired after the 1st season, which caused the complete shift in content. I have a pet theory that someone high up got royally pissed off about the line in the last episode of season 1 when the doctor at the CDC mentioned that the French were working on a solution when the Americans were barricading the doors and killing themselves in the halls, but that has yet to be confirmed.

For me, the 2nd season was such a backward step. The 1st was about the Big Questions; what's left of society? Is anyone still out there? Is this the end? How will our little band survive, and is there any point to surviving at all now? The 2nd dragged it all the way down into petty little human drama, and the entire premise of the series became set dressing. The questions in the 2nd season were: Whose baby is Lori carrying? Where is lost clueless little girl, and does anyone still care after 5 or 6 episodes of her being lost in the woods? Will Glen score with Maggie, and will Herschel like him as a potential son-in-law? Was the meatloaf at dinner too dry? The 2nd season of TWD was about the zombie apocalypse the same was that Three's Company was about life in San Francisco in the 70's. Now in season 3, ****'s got real again. Well worth waiting out.

Samsung Galaxy tablet! Think it's $280 at Costco for the 10 inches one.

About to see Life of Pi. I was a bit reluctant, as it might end up being a plotless vortex(I have read the book) but apparently the ratings have been very good. I'll be the scapegoat and let you all know how it goes.

Saw Life of Pi, it was really good. It's not a movie you'd watch for action or anything, but overall it was really well done. Gave me a much better appreciation for the book, as some of the things that happened were hard to visualize.

Can't wait until classes end so I can watch Life of Pi. Other than being based on a fantastic book, it has a bit of a sentimental value for me - it was the first novel in English that I read, in an ESL class nonetheless, and wrote my first English essay on it.

Watched Silver Linings Playbook, and you should all watch it too!

Amazingly done by Dan O. Russell (same guy who directed The Fighter). The mental illness part was dealt very wel. There was a good mix of drama and comedy, and it transitioned very well between those two aspects. Didn't feel forced at all.

wtf guys, is Raffi Torres living in Vancouver?

Saw this guy at the Marine Dr. Superstore who was as ginger as Torres, about my height (6') same haircut, short goatee and he was rocking a Chivas shirt.

mind = shattered

Probably cause you have no tickets

TWD may be the best show on tv right now but Macca is the best show on Earth. 3 hours no opening acts, at least 33 of his hits, some of the most iconic songs in history...etc

I believed the hype, after taking a hiatus after watching the **** second season. After watching the episode where Rick "talks" to his wife on the phone, I do not believe in the hype anymore.

The show isn't even in HD. There are sitcoms that are better. It would be one thing, if this were an original idea, but they're taking the storyline from a terrific comic, and butchering it. Still.

It was less painful to sit through episodes of The Killing.

Another decent episode of the walking dead. Half-series finale looks insane, can't wait.

I know.

Spoil:
I still have no idea what the endgame is supposed to be. People are dying way faster than they are reproducing, the way things are going the human race is completely unsustainable. It makes me sick whenever a faction goes to war with another(like the Governor against the soldiers, and now Rick against the Governor).

What are these people thinking!!!(although I guess that's sort of the point, how humanity responds to zombies). But if the ending is simply everyone dies that would be a total let down.

And slightly OT-how did a crazy hobo survive that long surrounded by zombies without knowing they existed? Seems like they just threw him in the plot to put more questions on morality into the story.

Tyrese will come into the fold soon apparently as will Morgan (the guy we met in the first episode). I'm not sure how everything is going to shake down I think it will be a long-time before a cure is found although this idea that everyone alive is already affected changes a lot. A cure probably won't be found for awhile if it does happen.

Crazy hobo guy was probably a hermit who lived in the middle of nowhere and was isolated from society. Probably didn't know about zombies at all. As for morals, there are none. It's basically just do your best to stay alive.
