This team is stacked on forwards on paper, but the defense really needs to shore up.

When is McIlrath expected to be back? I'm gonna catch more games when he is in the lineup.

Sounds like a successful game
Hrivik with three helpers as well - good follow up to the gorgeous feed he gave Gilroy last night.

The forwards are coming around and the no.1 goalie is hot. Defense and backup goalie is the achilles heel of this team

Yes, still.

Collins, Gilroy, Klassen, Parlett, Pyett and Vernace are the spectacular 6 on defense. Niemi and McIlrath injured.

Even when McI plays, I doubt he has the instant ability to be the second coming of Justin Schultz (Oklahoma/Oilers), let alone mask the weak overall efforts of the D corps.

Dmen in Junior C hockey can play better defense than Gilroy, but boy is he dangerous on the offense. Maybe we can get Beukeboom to lace 'em up again and be paired with Gilroy

(P.S.: Anyone know how Niemi is doing/recovering from the boarding hit?)

Is Niemi their 7th defenseman right now? If they haven't signed anyone else to the roster as an extra D-man, I might suspect he's okay to play. I haven't heard though! I want to see him back in the lineup.

Hawk Crawford listed him as injured as of last night. Whale have 6 healthy, 2 injured Dmen on the roster.

I have as much faith in Missiaen as in Jason Muzzatti on a bad day...

Too bad JAM is on the other side now. He got 20 points in 17 games so far. He'll be in the NHL when the season begins or shortly thereafter. Sucks that we lost him.

Maybe, maybe not. His numbers have been impressive--but as with other small, skilled players, there's no guarantee he can hack it in the NHL. The odds are still stacked against him. Time will tell, I guess.

Great to see Bourque and Hrivik continuing their good play. This is what I expected from Gilror. Hopefully McIlrath will get back and be able to be paired with him. In the case of a couple of injuries, that would most likely be the 3rd pairing.

Also, great to see Kolarik picking it up. I really think he is higher on the Rangers depth chart than people believe.

Two players contributing more this year than last year--Grant and Bourque. Grant tied for the team lead in goals with 7. Bourque with 2 recent game winners has been hot lately.

Kolarik played very well when he was called up the season before his big injury. If I remember correctly he had a really nice assist.
