I wonder if Popp will try hard to get Young now that the season is over. He would be one hell of a replacement for AC. Make him the top payed CFL player for 1 season and see how it goes...

I'm no football expert, but knowing that the als have this Quinlan guy signed (QB for McMaster) who is said to be the best canadian college football player, we should probably give him a shot!

I hope so.. But the last time the Als gave the ball to a Canadian QB it was a long long time ago with Gerry Datillio. I certainly hope they won't turn the guy into a cornerback or a special unit blocker.

or how about Chad Owens . Wouldn't he look good catching Calvillo's passes and returning kick offs and punts.

Als management made lots of mistakes in the last couple of years. Owens, Anwar Stewart, a couple of good coaches, all gone. + They are still unable to find a proper replacement for AC.

I am not overly optimistic about next season, especially if Calvillo is retiring. They have to develop their rushing game and strentgten their special teams.

To be fair Whitaker is pretty good (still a poor man's Avon Coburn, but gotta work within the cap). Can't blame managment when he went down for season.

Poor man's Avon Cobourne? Is that a joke? Whitaker is much better than that. Not to mention Cobourne is past his Als prime.

The only thing Cobourne did better than Whittaker is pass block, and it's not like Whittaker is terrible at it either.

Whittaker > Cobourne any day of the week

Yeah, so many good players lost due to not fitting the "system". Stewart and Guzman should never have been let go IMO.

Well it didn't take long to replace Jeff, makes you wonder if they had this guy pegged as a replacement all along. His resumé is pretty good, should be an improvement.

I think the players were finally settling into Reinbold's system, but I can't say I'm disappointed he was let go. He seemed like a great guy, but it's not normal it took a full season before players got comfortable with his schemes.

I don't know much about Thorpe, but his D at UofM was definately one of the top in the country. Let's see what he can bring to this D!

More coaching changes as Marcus Brady goes to Toronto. This will be a very different team come next season.

Thorpe coached in the cfl a couple years ago. He came because of danny m (can't spell his name). I had a football formation with him and he's a great coach
