Probably April 9, 1999...Kris Benson's debut. He proved victorious and Warren 'The Cat' Morris hit a home run. There was also a game against the Padres in 1995 or 96 where I saw Rod Woodson and got his autograph.

Meaningful Pirates games have never been a thing since I was in kindergarten...

Edmonds hit two home runs and Blanco won the game in extras. After the game, my dad and I took the Red Line down to the Cell for the Red Sox-White Sox game at 7. One of the best days of my life.
I wanna pull the doubleheader next year. Sucks there's so few dates where it's doable and almost never on a Saturday.

As for the OP: Haven't really been to many standout games. By default I have to go with SOX Opening Night in '06 with the banner ceremony.

#1: 9/24/11 - Cards coming back down 1-0 in the 9th on their way to passing the Braves thanks to a wild pitch by Marmol.

Runner up: McGwire's 500th and 501st HRs against the Pads in '99.

A couple of games come to mind.

- 2012 NLCS Game 2 - Vogelsong's performance was pretty impressive.
- Game 162 of the 2010 season versus the Padres. Was pretty cool to be there with my dad and see the Giants win the division on the last day of the season. Who knew they would go all the way that year.

Best time I ever had at a game was definitely Game 5 of the ALDS this year. Don't think I've been at many other meaningful games. Pettitte's 200th win. The third last game at the Stadium. Was outside the building for Game 6 of the 2009 WS.

AJ Burnett's return to the Dome

Verlander no hits the Jays - So ticked when he walked Arencibia in the 8th, I wanted to see a perfect game.

Although I hope I'll see better this year.

Anaheim Angels versus Dodgers, back in 1999. Grade 3 fieldtrip, in dodgers stadium. Bottom of the 9th down by two, was sitting with my favourite teacher of all time and he says don't worry we aren't down yet. Clutch home-run and we ended up winning the game, was absolutely awesome and a memory i'll cherish forever.

Mets/Dodgers NLDS game 1 in 2006, sat first row in pepsi picnic area. Was a damn good time.

Been to many baseball games. But another alltime favorite was Brewers @ Expos in '01, I believe. Stadium was as empty as I ever seen one. Walked down and sat first row next to Brewer dugout. Got to chat up Bob Apodaca for a little.

Most painful game? Mets/Cards game 7 NLCS. ****

My friend and I just drove down from Vancouver to San Fran for game 7 of the NLCS and ended up staying for game 1 of the WS. Both games incredibly special for their own reasons, got to watch my favorite pitcher in Matt Cain, and the rain in the 9th inning of game 7 was unbelievable, along with the celebration (walked down to right by the field and ended up meeting Miguel Tejada who was really nice). Obviously Pablo's 3 home runs was pretty amazing in game 1, along with just a great game overall by the Giants.

Agreed, hard to pick out very meaningful Pirates games. I do remember going to games in the very early 90's when they meant something, but I was too young to actually remember specific games.

The one game that does stand out was the one where Lloyd Mcclendon took 1st base vs. the Brewers. We ended up winning the game after being down, and it was just fun to see.

Have also been going to opening day with my dad for as long as I can remember. Have missed a couple here and there (a couple rainouts and last year was a thursday instead of monday which we couldn't get off), but have always enjoyed it. Has become a tradition and as I get older I truly enjoy the day together at the ballpark.

On my 30th birthday, went to a game at Wrigley. The fans were all over this Yankee, throwing bottles, fruit and rocks. He then pointed to the center field bleachers and on the next pitch hit it out. The fans went crazy as he slowly jogged around the bases. Man, I wish I could remember his name.

I was at the opening game of New Busch Stadium. And I was supposed to be at Game 5 of the World Series that year. However, game 4 was rained out, and people with game 5 tickets went to the new game 4, whereas people with the rained out game 4 tickets got to go to game 5. Still a little peeved.

Two Twins-Angels games at "The Big A"

First back in 2008 when we had Tex for a short time, also during K-Rod's record save year. Was my first Angels game, Tex hit a homer down the line and K-Rod got his 49th save. http://http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb...meId=280823103

Next was during the Nick Adenhart year in 09', Angels came back down from 3-0, Howie Kendrick tied it with two outs in the 9th, then Napoli ended it in the 10th with a walkoff double. Place was electric those innings. http://http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb...meId=290723103

Justin Verlander's no hitter vs. Toronto.

This is my brother's video taken one seat to the right of me recording the final out:

Oh yeah...I did that once too, against Milwaukee back when PNC Park was brand new. I caught a foul ball during one of those games.

That's my new answer.
