Detroit: Bottom 6 Forwards

Hey guys,

Detroit currently has 17 NHL-ready forwards and I'm just curious if any team is in need of any of these bottom-six forwards:

Drew Miller
Corey Emmerton
Jan Mursak (would cost more)
Patrick Eaves (still on IR)
Todd Bertuzzi (could play top-six)
Justin Abdelkader (doubt he gets traded but who knows)

Would prefer picks or any package for a decent stay-at-home defenseman.

Thanks

It was one of the better teams they've sent. Granted they should have left Justin Braun at home.

Oh trust me, I know that.

So, Murray for Abdelkader? Wings need a physical stay-at-home guy, or am I imagining things?

I would take that deal but the problem is Abby just signed a 4 year extension at a bit of a high price for his skill level. I'll add Abby to the OP to see offers, but I doubt KH trades him.

What type of defenseman is Ballard? I know he's right-handed which is nice, but the Wings don't need any more puck-moving defensemen.

True enough, but it's a mark of how horrible the Sharks bottom-6 is that I'd seriously consider it. Abdelkader would easily be our 8th best forward.

Drew Miller was born in Jersey*, wasn't he?

What would be the price tag for the Devils?

Ehh...Ballard is left handed. Since coming to Vancouver he's been mainly used in a defensive role(not the best use of his abilities) so he might not be the best fit.

Ah must've gotten mixed up with someone else. Yeah we need a defensive defenseman.

Probably just a pick or we could add for someone like Tallinder.

If we lose the season, you could likely pick up Lydman as a FA.

Drew Miller would look nice on the Capitals 3rd line.

We had talks of Raymond for Abdelkader awhile back, with some Detroit fans loving it and others hating it. IIRC for Wings fans it depended on whether or not they wanted to add some speed and insurance to the top 6 while the prospects develop, and how they valued Abby. I take it there's a bit of a split between Red Wings fans on him?

Todd Bertuzzi + Cory Emmerton for Cody Franson + Matt Lombardi.

Detroit doesn't need 6/7 defensemen. We need 3-5 dmen who are shutdown type guys. Basically a guy like Brad Stuart. Regarding the Murray for Abdelkader deal, I would do that in a second. I don't understand why people like Abdelkader. I would much rather have that extra spot for rookies.

Teams like San Jose or Vancouver don't exactly have rookies that can step in.(Maybe Schroeder if we rework our third line as a scoring line rather than a checking line).

I would do Raymond, Ballard and Schroeder (Vancouver special lol) for Bertuzzi, Abdelkader and Kindl.

I'm curious to see Bertuzzi with Kesler

We're even worse than you say, we have rookies stepping in and they're the best bottom-six players we have (Wingels is our 7th best forward).
