Marek Malik SO goal anniversary

With no hockey on right now, I thought I'd share this all with you. 6 years ago, tonight.

Hard to believe Henrik is the only carryover from that season.

This goal was the turnaround of the franchise.

Girardi was called up in January, 2007.

This was in 05-06. I'm certain because Nieminen was on the team.

If you were a true fan you'd remember that neiminen (and sstrudwick scored too IIRC) actually scored in this shootout to keep it going

I remember that Jagr was penalized for an illegal stick during the overtime period.

Henrik's the only player left from the team he started with. It makes me sad that Henke is still missing the cup. I watch highlights twice a week and I become depressed twice a week. Not a coincidence.

Sorry, not the only one left I suppose. The one that's been there the longest.
I mean, he could be the only one left, I don't know for sure, didn't bother to check

A bit OT, and I know someone brings this up every few weeks, but I'm still sad we lost Tyutin.... Especially for Zherdev

Cally had 10 shots on goal in one of the first games last season (against Kings or Ducks in SWE).

Question that's never been answered that almost became a reality that night. Poti got injured earlier that game so what would have happened if they went through the entire roster? Rangers would have been through their roster before the Caps would have been done with there's since they were short a man.

I love to watch this so I can hear Mike Crispino's giddy schoolgirl laugh during the replay.

What happens when teams run out? I'm guessing it restarts. Does the goalie ever shoot?

That was about the norm for Ovie before the last few years. Guy was a shot machine - in fact, he is 2nd all time in shots in a season (think he had like 440) after Esposito (wanna say 560).
