Garza plus Baez and a prospect might have enough to do it for the Fish. Considering the lack of pitching on the market and Baez's inflated value.

They won't want Garza, they are in full rebuild mode. As noted before, Garza only works if you are flipping him for prospects that will be in the deal.

Well, yes, it would have to be a three way deal.

I've given up until Rose comes back. I can barely watch them.

Yeah, accidentally posted in the NFL thread.

I really think we need to consider ponying up for Love or a guy like George, Afflalo, or Mayo. Don't see us going far even with Rose back.

As for the performance tonight, that was embarrassing. Disgusting effort by the players and way too lenient of coaching. That was horrific. I told people I was really considering watching the game Wednesday.

Even with one of those guys, you aren't getting passed Miami.

This team is the 90s Knicks and Pacers. They aren't getting to a Final, unless LeBron gets hurt or decides to go play baseball...

No they are not, don't compare Lebron to Jordan. Miami is clearly the best team in the East but they cannot close anywhere near as well as Jordan and those Bulls teams did. It would take a lot to beat them but you get them in a game 7 situation, anything can happen. You get Jordan and the Bulls in the same situation, you sit back and enjoy the win, we all know that. Not the same.

You sound like every Pacers fan during that time. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

Sorry, but in the NBA it just doesn't.

Just being a realist here.

The Bulls can't win with this core. They need to tank the year and deal Deng and have 2 lottery picks. That'll be their best chance to ever compete while Rose is around.

Meh, it may not be the Bulls to do it but I can easily see the Heat losing to someone in the playoffs. Not sure they're quite as good as you seem to think.

When did I ever say they can't lose a playoff series?

All I've said is the Bulls aren't getting by them any time soon.

Remember: We're only talking about the East. I don't think the Thunder are far away, but they aren't in the discussion.

I wasn't talking about the Bulls, just the Heat vs. those Bulls, not even close. If I had to compare this Heat team to a historical team on a greatness level, it would be the Jazz teams the Bulls played in the finals. Great team, not Jordan's Bulls though.

As for the Bulls, I agree 100%. They have ****ed up royaly this year, GarPax are two ****ing idiots that should be long gone. What they should have done is had Deng have surgery instead of rehab, forcing him to miss a few months of the season at least, signed a bunch of scrubs (well, they basically got that part right, not intentially) and lose about 55-60 games, earning a potential top 5 pick so they can have someone to play with Rose. I would have hoped to get Marcus Smart. With the season he is having, he may drop a bit but it's unlikely the Bulls will pick high enough.

Ok, I getchu. Yeah, I wasn't trying to say that these Heat are as good as the Jordan Bulls, just that the Heat are the dominate team in the conference today and it's going to take a major fluke for someone to get by them. They might win the next 6 East titles, but they aren't going to win the championship all of those years like the Bulls did.

The Bulls have really ****ed their own team and the future with Rose looks bleak unless they pull off some kind of major trade or manage to get a high pick this year. The one thing about the Heat people can hope for is that Wade breaks down badly. That team would be beatable without Wade. He's probably got a couple more good years but yeah, as you said, NOBODY in the conference is close to being able to challenge them.

Agreed. Keep Rose out the entire season, clear up the cap over next 2 seasons. Hope to rebuild by 2014.

Only hope I can see is Kevin Love opting out and coming to the Bulls in 2 years.

Yeah, the other thing is maybe Charlotte doesn't finish in the bottom 12 this year, the Bulls get a pick in the 13-15 range including their own and can make a big move at the draft.

Cubs and RHP Scott Feldman have agreed to terms on a one-year contract. Feldman has pitched for the #Rangers over the last 8 seasons.

RHP Scott Feldman signs 1-year deal with #Cubs for $6 million with $1 million in incentives

His xFIP and ERA don't match up at all. I think getting out of Texas and getting out of the AL will help him a lot.

I know it's just a daydream, but I'd give him 7/$125 without hesitation really. From Rotoworld:

Quote:
Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports that the Mets have made David Wright a seven-year offer "well in excess of $100 million."
This is quite a different perspective than Ken Rosenthal's reported offer of six years and $100 million, but such is life during the Hot Stove. Negotiations are ongoing and it's not clear whether a deal is imminent. Recent reports have indicated that Wright wants a seven-year deal in the range of $125 million.

Agreed. He also pitched better in the second half last year and started striking out a lot more guys.

Garza
Samardzija
Baker
Wood
Feldman

I'd still like to see us sign another starter that can pitch as a longman or starter, Carlos Villanueva would be perfect.

I've been a big fan of David Wright since like forever

So, I'd love to have him on the team.
